🐾 Meet Cecil Valentine – the sweetest soul searching for his forever home! 💖

Cecil has been patiently waiting for his forever family since long before Valentine’s Day, but it only feels right to feature him now💕 This affectionate, playful, and intelligent cuddle bug adores pets, lap time, and quality time with you. His sweet little motor purr will melt your heart, and he’ll happily lounge in your lap, all day long. He’s laid-back, gentle, and great with kids!

Cecil is FeLV positive, which means he’ll need to be an only kitty or join a home with other FeLV+ cats. What is FeLV? Feline Leukemia Virus affects a cat’s immune system, but FeLV+ cats can live happy lives with proper care. It’s not contagious to humans or other species—just cats. Sadly, FeLV+ kitties often wait much longer for homes, and Cecil has been waiting far too long.

Saving One Life is gearing up for an influx of tiny, precious furballs that need safe, loving foster homes until they find their forever families. Just eight days ago, we shared the story of Katie Natation—a tiny mama who raised 10 babies, all of whom were adopted almost instantly, while she waited months for her own forever home. Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Katie’s wait is finally over! She has found her perfect match, and her new mom couldn’t be more excited. Congratulations, Katie—you deserve all the love in the world! Selfishly, we’ll miss your purrs and love. 🩵🐾

From a deep, dark, muddy tortoise tunnel to a loving home—Nuwa Kua’s journey is nothing short of a miracle. When his foster first found him, he was a tiny, emaciated kitten with no visible eyes, barely clinging to life. He had crawled deep into an underground tortoise burrow. He desperately needed a lifeline.

Nuwa Kua faced every challenge imaginable: FIV, FIP, starvation, and severe eye deformities requiring multiple surgeries. There were moments when his body shut down, when his breathing slowed, and his heart rate became unstable. But his fosters refused to let him slip away. They held onto hope, reminding each other that as long as Nuwa Kua kept fighting, so would they.

And fight he did. After months of intensive care, this once-fragile kitten transformed into a strong, happy, and healthy boy. Eventually, he found his forever home with one of his fosters, where he is now adored beyond measure. His story is a testament to the power of resilience, the dedication of rescuers, and the magic that happens when no one gives up.

Nuwa Kua didn’t just survive—he thrived. And his journey will always be a reminder of why rescue work matters. 💛

Meet Orange Bro Tang, the ultimate adventure-loving orange tabby! 🧡 Whether he’s chasing feather toys, judging the neighborhood from his favorite window perch, or working hard for treats, this fun-loving guy is always ready to bring joy and laughter to your life. He’s a pro at cuddles, full of personality, and looking for a forever home where he can share his boundless love. He just turned 1 year old and he gets along well with other cats, loves all children, and hasn’t met a dog yet but we’re optimistic he’d become their best friend too.

We were all so excited to receive another adoption update on Joe Dirt! He instantly bonded with his new kitty sibling at home when his family adopted him last summer, but his best friend? The family’s new baby! When he’s not cuddled up with his feline buddy, he’s right by their baby’s side, making her giggle and soaking up all the love. This sweet boy found his perfect home! 🩵🐾

🦷 February is National Pet Dental Month. Just like us, our feline friends can suffer from dental problems that lead to pain, infection, and even life-threatening issues if left untreated. That's where Saving One Life steps in!

Each year, we help dozens of cats by providing life-saving surgeries and dental treatments through our amazing veterinary partners, giving them a second chance at happiness and health.

You might not even recognize this handsome lad at first glance because he cleans up so well.✨ This is Hobo Baggins (our broken jaw kitty) a week after his jaw surgery—he got a bath, is well-fed, and is getting lots of love from his foster. We’re happy to say we have no huge updates because he’s doing amazing. We’re all blown away by his resilience and zest for life. We’ll keep you posted on his progress, but we’re hopeful it will be smooth sailing for him from here on out!

Meet Katie Natation! 🌟

This sweet and cuddly mama was found in the 117-degree summer heat, extremely pregnant and ready to pop! To our surprise, this tiny girl was carrying TEN babies—the biggest tummy we’ve ever seen on such a small cat! 🐱💛

All of her kittens found loving homes almost immediately, but Katie is still waiting for her happy ending. She’s friendly, gentle, and affectionate, with a very unique little left ear. She’s a total lap cat, she adores being pet, and would love nothing more than a human to call her own.

Katie is also one of our cats that needed a dental procedure while in our care. For Pet Dental Month, we wanted to highlight some of our dental cases. Katie had fractures in her canine teeth as well as periodontal disease. She had to have teeth extracted as well as a dental cleaning which cost about $700. Please consider donating to our Pet Dental Health Month Fundraiser so we can keep helping cats like Katie.

Hobo Baggins Update! Our brave little adventurer, Hobo Baggins, had a huge day today! This sweet six-month-old kitten underwent surgery to repair his broken jaw and TMJ, and thanks to the incredible team at Arizona Veterinary Dental Specialists in Gilbert, everything went smoothly! As you can see in the video, Hobo is already alert, hungry, and oh-so-happy to have a working mouth again. His surgery totaled just under $3,000, and thanks to you, our amazing supporters, we’ve already raised over $2,000 toward his care! Hobo will stay at the clinic for monitoring as he starts his recovery, and when he’s ready, he’ll head to a loving foster home for plenty of TLC. We are so grateful for every donation, share, and word of encouragement—YOU make rescues like this possible! Thank you for believing in Hobo and in our mission to help kitties in need!

Hobo, kitten found trapped with broken jaw, purrs and kneads at vet clinic

*URGENT* We need your help! *Kitten with Broken Jaw!* Hobo kitty was left for dead trapped under a crate with a rock on it. Add to that, he has a badly broken jaw. Thankfully, one of our foster's brothers found Hobo and rushed him to his brother's home. Daniel jumped back in his car to drive back to Gilbert from Globe after just getting home. Thankfully, the staff at Brookview Animal Wellness stayed to help Daniel with Hobo kitty. He has gotten the royal treatment and will be consulting with a surgeon on Monday. Despite a BROKEN jaw, he is full of love, snuggles and biscuits. He has a will to live; voraciously eating despite the fact his jaw doesn't close. �Saving One Life is a volunteer run rescue and sanctuary based in the Phoenix metro area with a small but growing chapter in San Diego, California. We are a Never Killl rescue providing long term care for animals with ongoing health issues and hospice care for our cats with terminal illnesses.

At Saving One Life, our mission is:

To provide shelter and medical care to stray, abandoned, and surrendered felines for the purpose of finding permanent adoptive homes who were?at great risk for euthanasia.

To participate in the greater community's effort to reduce overpopulation by providing TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) opportunities.

To provide education regarding the need to spay and neuter pets, vaccinate and other responsibilities related to being a pet parent.

We save predominantly cats and kittens of all types including but not limited to: purebred cats, semi-feral kittens, underweight kittens, nursing mother cats, cats with behavioral problems, and severe medical cases when we have funding to do so.

Kittens and cats within Arizona, primarily from Maricopa, Pinal and Yuma Counties that are on the euthanasia lists.

Kittens and cats in the San Diego area partnering with local TNR organizations.

Our rescue cats are cared for in a loving foster home prior to being placed at our adoption center. We have six adoption centers located throughout the east valley.
