| A very lucky FeLV+ Lola Petalpaw and her son Flint went home with a wonderful adopter! Their new mom knew that she wanted to adopt two cats together and these are her first pets as a young adult. She said she spent time at in Mesa and Phoenix and spent a lot of time with the "Felvies". She ultimately decided she would "be that person" for these special kitties and adopt two FeLV+ rescues. Lots of love and wishes for a happy and healthy long life together for all three of them!

👋 Meet Michon, our incredible community cat champion at Saving One Life! Two years ago, Michon embarked on her volunteer journey with SOL by rescuing two kittens when she had just started doing TNR work and fostering them until they found loving homes.

With a lifelong passion for animal welfare, Michon found her calling in helping community kitties through Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) and adoption efforts. Her tireless dedication includes trapping community cats, getting them spayed or neutered, and releasing them back into their safe habitats. Michon also provides essential resources to others managing cat colonies. But her commitment doesn't stop there – she works diligently to find loving homes for adoptable cats, giving them a second chance at a happy life.

On top of these efforts, Michon manages the SOL one-time foster program and mentors a plethora of foster volunteers. Her work has significantly impacted controlling the cat population and ensuring healthier, happier lives for these beautiful animals. Michon’s advice to those interested in volunteering for any cause is to remember that every action, no matter how small, contributes to creating the change you want to see. We are immensely grateful for her hard work and compassion. Thank you, Michon, for changing the lives of our community cats!

Meet the Mars Rover siblings! 👋 Miss Sojourner is very playful and will be one of the first to chase the toys around and come to the food bowl. She is very curious and wants to be the first to see what is going on. She's also quite bossy with her siblings and will take over the games they are playing (but we love her anyway). On the other hand, Spirit is a watcher at first. They like to see what is going on before they join in but when they feel safe, Spirit LOVES to play. They both have lots of love to give, and ready to meet their furever homes! While it would be awesome if they were adopted together, they do not have to be.

🚨‼️URGENT‼️🚨

Our volunteers have been working over time to help round up kitties from someone’s dumping ground. Yes, you read that right. Allegedly, an individual has been taking in cats for a fee and then leaves them outside if they aren’t adopted quick enough. We are outraged by this news and are working as fast as we can to get these animals off the hot street and save as many lives as possible. To do that, we need to make A LOT more room and fundraise like crazy!

We are currently at 37 kitties (and counting) that are in desperate need of placement. If you have ever considered fostering we are asking you to take the leap. We can confirm that all kitties are friendly. Not only will all animal expenses be covered, but you will not go into the process alone as our amazing network of mentors will be here to guide you. A very common question among new foster parents is "What should I expect when I bring my foster home?"

The honest answer is that every animal is unique. Regardless of the animal, it will take a little time for them to warm up to you and adjust to their new environment. Here are some simple and easy tips to help your new foster adjust.

We understand that the thought of fostering can be daunting for many without any prior experience. That is why Saving One Life takes a supportive, hands-on approach to fostering. Not only will you be assigned a mentor but our rescue will provide all medical care and supplies necessary. Meet our sweet bonded, brother/sister duo, Ben & Luna. Ben's sweet, friendly nature is truly heartwarming. Curiosity fuels his days, leading him on countless adventures. He's a bit of a goofball, often making us chuckle with his funny antics. Despite Ben's playful energy, He is also gentle, a quality that endears him to everyone, including Luna! Luna is a a young, vibrant spirit who has charmed everyone at the rescue with her sweet and friendly nature. Her curiosity knows no bounds, often leading to goofy and gentle antics that bring laughter to the staff. she's a quick learner, always eager to engage in smart play that keeps her energetic personality thriving.

Saving One Life is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides care for at-risk cats and dogs through foster and adoption programs. We use TNR (trap-neuter-return) to humanely trap feral cats and spay or neuter them in order to help decrease the population. Once the cats have healed, they are returned to the colony in the area where they were trapped. This process involves the help of many volunteers who spend many nights a week driving around to different locations to feed animals in need. Want to help? We are always looking for new volunteers!
