Unleash The Peace

Unleash The Peace Balanced Dog Training with over a decade of experience training all breeds and all challenges . I work with all breeds, ages, and issues.

I work diligently to teach both the dog and human a humane and effective way to communicate, using tools (slip lead, prong collar and remote collars), body language, praise, and reinforcement for good behavior. I am passionate about helping those humans who are willing to make a lifestyle change for themselves and their dog; owners who are committed to helping their dog be the best they can be by creating a calm dynamic between them! In addition, I take a special interest in fearful dogs!

New week, new pup!
Meet Baloo. He's a 6 year old Dachshund who has been an only child his whole life. His family is expecting a human child early next year so they reached out to help with some behavior tweaks to ensure for a smooth transition when baby arrives.

At our first session, we worked on conversational leash work to give Baloo a way to understand what his parents are asking him and to introduce some life skills to begin building a good foundation. We covered recall and down (because Baloo thinks coming when called is optional and the down, to help him to calm his mind and settle a little easier). We taught him manners at open doors to ensure he doesn't bolt out when we are maneuvering baby strollers and introduced him to the working walk. These skills allow us to include Baloo in the baby activity that will be happening, while keeping everyone safe and happy. This little guy is super sweet and wasn't too sure he liked school at the beginning of the lesson, but once he realized how good it felt to use his brain, he was all in. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ Keep up the great work, Rayni and Austin πŸ‘πŸ»

Thursday is for brave! Marley trained 1.5 years ago, but recent life changes were derailing his progress a bit. His Mom reached out for help getting them back on track! I always tell my training families that I'm with you for the life of your pup, whether you like it or not πŸ˜‰ So very grateful she reached out!

Marley's fear had taken the front seat a bit and was proving difficult to get him out into the world on leash for something as simple potty break. We made some tweaks to their walk and gave them homework to desensitize Marley. We also added confidence work to his life. Asking Marley to do hard things, in an effort to have him default to Mom's guidance, helps him to be brave, connects him and Mom in a way more trusting space and is super fun! Thankfully, this guy has a super patient Mom who wants to help him out from underneath his anxious fog. 🫢🏻 Word on the street is this guy is making huge progress at home so far! Keep up the great work, Morgan β™₯️

Gus worked on his reactivity at our last session as he walked with Shorty. He did well, but he's got a lot of insecurity on leash to unpack so we are going to get to work chipping away at calming his mind, building his confidence and connection. Good thing he landed with the best Mom ever! Keep up the great work, Alma πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Pakkun learned to walk with friends without blowing a gasket at our last session. He was able to control his over the top excitement and insecure puppy grumbles. He was able to throw a couple of good experiences under his belt.πŸ™ŒπŸΌ Once we crushed that assignment, we decided to have a little social yappy hour with Shorty to go over appropriate dog greetings and made super fast friends ❀️ This guy is doing amazing! Keep up the great work, Kate and Malik πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

New week, new walk! Wolfgang learned how to respect open doors and to check in with his people to ensure it's safe. He also was introduced to the working walk, which involves connection and no pulling like a freight train! Giving his mind something to work hard on, WHILE getting his cardio is a game changer for his overall behavior. Keep up the great work, Henning family πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Another beautiful day, another beautiful pack walk! This month we had an awesome group of dog owners show up to help their dogs be their best! A very special thanks to Blaze, Adira, Kali, Cindy Lou, Tigger, Rezi, Rocky, Rosco and Denali for so graciously donating $207 to help the pups at who need it.

We only had two dogs who have been to pack walks (shout out to the OGs Rezi and Blaze) before so the new energy was an added distraction for everyone to learn through. Every dog in attendance has challenges managing their feelings around dogs and people and we had a super walk and a bunch of wins with dog owners helping other dog owners with their pets. 🫢🏻So grateful to be able to watch everyone keep their pups to live their best lives. Great work all!! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Next month, we will be pack walking on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22, so mark your calendars and stay tuned for those deets.

Fridays are for brave! Blueberry and his brother, Rooster worked hard on their trust in handler exercises at our last session. We asked them to allow their humans to guide them through new and hard things, in an effort to get them deferring to their humans for guidance when they are uncertain and to increase their confidence overall. The challenges the boys have are rooted in their insecurity, so we are doing everything we can to build that up! Keep up the great work, Amanda and Steve πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Harley worked on a transitional leash at our last session, since it proved to be a much easier conversation for him to hear. We worked on his reactivity, which is mostly just loud and barky by having him critter with Shorty. It started off loud and messy, but as his family began to get locked into his energy, he realized they were advocating for him, handling all the threats and he could relax. 😊 He was able to work through with their guidance and they were able to give him one positive on leash dog experience! We will chip away, giving him bankable experiences as we get him to buy what we're selling. Keep up the great work, Henderson family πŸ‘πŸ»

Bella got hit by the calm train 🀣 When dogs are mentally on 'go' at all times and you teach them to be mentally still, it can be very difficult for them to just let it go and allow themselves to relax. This is what that looks like. Word on the street is that sweet Bella is learning to calm on command at home so that she's able to give her canine sister a break from the crazy, as well as create a calmer version of herself. Keep up the great work, LeSueur family πŸ‘πŸ»

Meet Mavrick.
He's an 8ish month old Heeler mix who was recently adopted by a great family. He's young and wild and having some challenges managing his excitement and sass, along with learning that people are not chew toys πŸ˜‰

At our first session, we worked on conversational leash work to ensure Mav could understand his people clearly. Giving them all a way to communicate clearly, allows both humans and canine to thrive! We worked on basic life skills like come, sit and down. We worked on lots of impulse control, being mindful of what we are giving attention to and loads of leadership drills. This guy is allllll puppy and likes to see what he can get away with πŸ˜‰ Giving this family some homework to work on their connection and his impulse control, lets us all be on the same page and ensures Mav grows up into an awesome adult dog πŸ‘πŸ» Keep up the great work team Mavrick! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
