Meet Rambo.
His Mom is a retired first responder and wanted to attend our training camp. Once I learned about some of Rambos nervousness around other dogs and people, we decided one on one sessions, in a mentally quieter environment were a better fit for them β€οΈ
Rambo is a one year old and is already on his second home. His Mom is a fantastic handler with loads of GSD experience, so I wanted to give her some additional ideas and my perspective on how I would help him through his fear. Rambos reactions to dogs and people are grumbly, but completely rooted in fear. Obviously, grumbles from a GSD are unsettling to dogs and people in the wild.
We want to change how people perceive him, because he is a very good boy and we want the world to see it! At our first session, we worked hard on leadership exercises to teach Rambo that eye contact and connection with humans is for guidance and not scary or confrontational. We also did a TON of confidence work. Giving this guy obstacles and the ability to find his Mom for guidance was SO cool to watch. It was like the nerves melted off and were replaced with badass vibes π I was so very proud of Rambo and grateful to his Mom for thinking outside of the box and being open to letting me along for his ride! Keep up the great work, Stephanie and Rambo ππΌ
