Unleash The Peace Balanced Dog Training with over a decade of experience training all breeds and all challenges . I work with all breeds, ages, and issues.

I work diligently to teach both the dog and human a humane and effective way to communicate, using tools (slip lead, prong collar and remote collars), body language, praise, and reinforcement for good behavior. I am passionate about helping those humans who are willing to make a lifestyle change for themselves and their dog; owners who are committed to helping their dog be the best they can be by creating a calm dynamic between them! In addition, I take a special interest in fearful dogs!

Feel good Friday, brought to you by Hank and Holly! These two went from waayyyy too long in a crate and being handled heavily, to living their best life in just a couple of months! 😍 These two have learned all of their life skills, how to walk on a leash, how to trust humans and work on building their confidence every day. I am so grateful to Lisa and Kurt, for not only adopting one, but TWO pups who needed them. Thank you for opening your heart and your home, for trusting me to come along for the ride and for seeing all their potential. It will never get old them 'dog'. I wish every dog could be so lucky to land in a spot like this ❤️

New walk vibes for Rooster! As a young and impulsive guy, walks can be challenging and reactive. Being a working dog, we want to give Roosters family a way to give him a job on his walks in an effort to exercise BOTH physical and mental muscles. This guy absolutely loves to work and giving him a new conversation where he can clearly understand what is being asked of him, allows him to shine. Blueberry (brother) stayed home this session, but he's going to practice the working walk too! It's important we get the boys on the same page and working together to reintegrate them safely. New day, new walk! You may recall that Harley is expecting his first baby human this Fall and part of being a big brother is being able to walk like a gentleman with your family. Harley loves to be chaotic on walks, enjoys pulling, being vocal and blowing a gasket when spotting dogs and some people 😅 We can't have him acting this way when the stroller is present so we got to work making some new adjustments!

Harley was introduced to the working walk, the one that exercises both his body and his mind. We also taught him to respect open doors, follow his humans lead and engage with his parents to allow for them all to work as a team. Harley did incredibly well learning and putting the new walk tweaks into practice. He's going to head to his own hood to practice and we will add dogs, distractions and a stroller next time 😉 Keep up the great work Ashley and JT🙌🏼

Meet B'Ellana.
She is a 7ish month old Cattledog mix who was recently adopted by an awesome human. She shares her home with a bunch of kitty siblings, so we are definitely going to need help managing our desire to herd them, along with fine tuning some listening skills, leash skills and growing our confidence.

At our first session, we worked on bringing her and Mom into sync. We want to all be speaking the same language so that everyone feels heard and understood. We are working on getting these girls to work as a team and vibe so that we can help B'Ellana manage her puppy impulses better. Lots of puppy pushups and leadership exercises are in store for these two for homework! Fun fact, we are training B'Ellana in Dutch commands...so I'm learning something new too 😍 Keep up the great work, Bethany 🙌🏼

Your feel good Friday, brought to you by Tigger 😍 This guy has landed himself a forever home! Complete with a human family, a puppy sibling (passed out on the floor), a beautiful home, and all the love he could ask for. Meet Ghost and U*i.
Ghost is a 6 year old Boston Terrier who they adopted a couple of years ago. He is riddled with anxiety and loads of insecurities, but is the sweetest boy..

U*i is a 6 year old Pug who also has loads of anxiety and is a nervy guy. They both could handle some help with their leash manners, but mostly they need help to ease their anxiety and manage their fights. These two have disagreements wayyyy to often, so their family reached out for help.

First order of business was place. We need BOTH boys to mentally be on the planet with us. They both operate at a 15/10 at any given moment, so we wanted to reach them to relax their minds, manage their big emotions and give them a break from their anxiety everyday. Doing nothing sounds easy, but when you are mentally always 'on' it is wildly difficult. The squish crew did great learning how to calm their minds and they are going home to decompress before we dig into more behavior modification. Keep up the great work team Squish 🫶🏻

Rigby added a whole new walk to his resume at our last session! We worked on slowing him down and asking permission to leave the house and introduced him to the working walk! This boy was stressing a bit having to 'handle' all the people and dogs he saw on leash and was barking and being a pully machine.

So first we made some tweaks to the walk solo, then we worked on remaining calm with strangers (my husband, Ryan), then we asked the ultimate ask, in adding a stranger WITH a dog. Whelp, I'm happy to report that Rigby freaking crushed it, was able to meet both Ryan and Shorty and acted like the gentleman derp that he is 😍 Word on the street is he is doing amazing in his own hood and has had a wildly positive improvement at the bus stop with his kids 🫶🏻 Keep on crushing it Pray family 👏🏻

Holly and Hank learned all about walking WITH their family versus dragging them about like ragdolls. 😉 They worked hard on manners at the doorway, to both set the tone for a calmer walk, but also to ensure they stay safe at open doors. 🤗 We then introduced them to the working walk, connected, enjoyable and fulfilling for BOTH ends of the lead. So very grateful these two pups landed with Lisa and Kurt! Keep up the great work, guys 👏🏻

Rooster the Shepherd, brought his brother, Blueberry the Bernadoodle to our last session. As you may recall, these two have been having some disagreements, so we are working hard on righting the ship!

Both boys have tendencies to resource guard food, space and people and both react from an insecure space. Blueberry tends to be a house manager and Rooster has been challenging that role lately. So a factory reset for both is on tap!

We have moved the needle a bit with the place command and now focused on changing the way the boys see their family. We want the humans to be seen as the leaders in charge of anything in the home, so we began leadership exercises to have them begin to default to their family. We worked on basic obedience drills to get those into a solid versus sometimey place. When you are managing dogs who fight in the home, it is important that they hear your guidance, no matter what state of mind they are in. Giving both boys a hard reset also has them viewing one another as equals. Loads of impulse control homework, manners at the doorway to control too much excitement (which leads to arguments at their house), dialing in their obedience and shifting leadership is our homework until the next session.
