Hey, there, it's Frijol! Need a loyal buddy by your side? I'm on it. Need someone to hang out and watch TV? That's me! Want to go hiking? I'm ready to hop in the car. I like just about everyone I meet - men, women, kids, dogs. I even get along with the cat.

I've been spending time at the dog park with my foster brother, we love to meet new two and four-legged friends, although I keep close track of my foster mom. I came to this home a little creaky, we think I'm an 8-year old English pointer. Once here, I started getting exercise, had some dental work and dropped a few pounds, Now I'm prancing around the park, ready to find my forever home. I'll be your best-ever buddy.

Hi, my name is Sophia and I am a Doberman pincher, about 3 years old. I have a dock tail and the best long, floppy, ears ever!
My life started on a rough start. I lived on the streets of Phoenix with my previous owner, and I wasn’t always treated kindly, but then the best thing happen for me… and I was handed over to Valley Dog Rescue. I have been with them for a couple months now. I have learned to use a dog door and I am beginning to understand that having meals everyday and love are a real thing.

I have learned a few things these past few months….like I love a warm place to sleep, cuddled up against my foster mom and human contact on the couch at night. I’m also learning basic commands. I’m really good when my reward is a treat. My foster mom thinks I would benefit from formal training, and I think I would do well in training, I love to learn new things.

My ideal Home will have a big yard for me to run and a family that understands my breed. I also need to have humans who are not young, the young children scare me. Having a human that can teach me with love, but still have that alpha quality would be best. I love humans and enjoy limited, monitored play with other canines. I prefer male canines and need proper introductions with other dogs.

🔴Be sure to post flyers, not everyone uses social media.

🔴Physically go to the shelters

🔴 Put bedding and blankets with familiar smells outdide. Dogs will often try to find their way home.

Tonight will be terrifying for most pets and one of the most dangerous of the entire year. More pets will go missing tonight than any other time. Please keep your pets safely inside with identification on them. If you must take them outside for potty breaks have them on a leash. All dogs can become spooked and try to escape, even in a fenced yard. Microchipping your pet is one of the best ways to help a finder identify them. This only works if your contact information is registered and current.

⚠️Please, take extra precautions to keep your pet safe right now:
⚠️ Keep them indoors as much as possible, and keep them on a leash when you go outside. Dogs will absolutely try to escape from fenced yards if frightened by fireworks.
⚠️ Make sure they always have on a collar with tags that have your current contact information, and that their microchip information has been updated if you've changed anything.
⚠️ Create a safe place for them to hide if they get frightened, and start helping them associate it with positive things beforehand by using favorite bedding, toys, and treats.
⚠️ Take a clear photo of them to help with searching later in case they do escape.
