Morpheus (a former Surfcat) can be shy when new humans come by his house. Even though I’m not really a new human, he forgot who I was. He loves treats and will eat when I’m gone. This is what he got for his appetizer under his mommy and daddy’s bed… Yes, I’m a crazy cat lady and I just love my clients

Meet the Surfcats ~ Bogie
Location: Surfcat (Oxnard)
Age: almost 2 years (estimated birthdate 05/03/22)
S*x: male (neutered)

Bogie was trapped as a kitten with his six siblings on Day Road in Ventura, and they all went into foster care together (through Surfcat) in June 2022. After all of Bogie's siblings got adopted, he came to Surfcat Headquarters to await his own adoption.

Bogie is a very calm and sweet kitty but he is shy with people. He loves the company of other cats and tolerates friendly dogs. He likes to cuddle on his person's lap (his current person is Surfcat's Executive Director Leslie), but we expect it to take a little time for him to warm up to a new person. He would do best in a quiet home with another cat for companionship.

As with all Surfcats, Bogie needs to be an indoor only cat (catios and cat-safe balconies are ok).

UPDATE: Charlie is in a new foster to adopt home and is doing great. He slept the first two days he was there. Now he’s coming out and accepting love and attention from his new people. We will keep you posted.

Meet the Surfcats ~ Charlie
Location: returning to Surfcat (Oxnard)
Age: 15.8 years (estimated birthdate 07/03/08)
S*x: male (neutered)

We have a different story for this week. Charlie first came to Surfcat in June 2021 when our vet called us asking if we could take him. He had been dropped off there to be euthanized because his former family had gotten a puppy and he didn't like him (please keep your negative comments to yourself). Of course, Surfcat stepped up and rescued him that same day and got him adopted about a month later.

Now, Charlie finds himself being returned to Surfcat (he is exhibiting signs of depression and would do better as an only cat). He is getting older (he'll be 16 in July), and we're not sure how his health is, but we'll know more after his vet appointment this Saturday.

Currently, we're looking for someone to foster this senior boy. Surfcat Headquarters is not an ideal place for him, nor are any of our foster homes since they all have at least one other cat in them. If you had been wondering if you could make a difference in a senior cat's life, this is your sign ✨️

Good morning. We are asking again for basic supplies so we can care of our senior and hospice cats here at Surfcat HQ. We understand that the kittens are coming. These senior, medical and hospice kitties have been through a lot. Most of the seniors we have came to us through no fault of their own. Thrown away like garbage ending up in shelters where they may ultimately be euthanized. These sweet babies need a place to live out their golden years surrounded by love and care.
Cat litter and p*e pads are most important right now. Please help if you can by donating, fostering or adopting.
