Axel is known to be a bit of a bully when it comes to being around other dogs. He is learning to exist calmly around them instead of being in their business or staring at them. He’s already doing such a great job!
Axel is back for day 2 of his 15 Day Train program!
It may not look like he is doing a whole lot in this photo but that’s the point! Dog training isn’t always action packed, sometimes it is just about teaching the dog the art of doing nothing!
Axel was a bit anxious today being in a new environment so we did an exercise that teaches him to find calm from within himself instead of getting overly worked up.

Guess who graduated!!!!! 🎉👏🏻🥳🎓 Ulysses!!!
When Ulysses first came to us, he would pull on the leash super hard, react to other dogs, and get nervous of large objects. Now, he knows to walk on a loose leash, walk calmly past other dogs, and move away when he is in a situation that makes him uncomfortable. He’s come such a long way!! We are so proud of him and can’t wait to see him at support class!!
Violet is hanging out at Grist Mill park in Alexandria!! She was working on place and her tricks around kids playing, dogs walking by, and people! It is important to test your pups skills out in new/different locations!

It’s Tanner’s last day here with us!
Tanner is ADOPTABLE through Compact Canine Rescue!
This guy is a total sweetheart and just wants a lap to cuddle up in and a friend to play with. Tanner is dog and cat friendly! Although a little wary of men, he is willing to try—as you can see in this video! We’re so happy to have worked with Compact Canine and the We Rate Dogs Foundation to get Tanner started out on the right foot.
Bingo graduated from puppy class!!!!!
When bingo first started with us, he would pull on the leash. Now, he can walk nicely on a loose leash and he has great skills that will set him up for success in the future!! Great job Bingo! We are so proud of the progress you made!! See you at support class!!
Look who graduated our Advanced Obedience Class! These 3 cuties! Tatum, Parker, and Teo! They came to us to work on Tatum’s barking and lunging at everyone and everything and Parker was starting to pick up some of her bad habits! Like many households with multiple dogs these guys were getting protective of their food as well.
Ally, Jack, and Danny worked super hard and we couldn’t be prouder of them! Now they can bring these three out to coffee shops and breweries without having to worry about any outbursts and in the rare event, this happens, they know exactly what to do! Congratulations! We hope you have many fun adventures with your fur babies in your future! See you at Support Class!

It’s Ulysses last day of his 15 day train!! To celebrate we went out to the Merrifield Garden Center and Cabelas! When Ulysses first started with us, he was reacting to other dogs and nipping people. He was also extremely nervous of moving objects. Now, he can calmly walk on a loose leash past people and dogs, walk past shopping carts without reacting, walkers, wheelchairs, etc. he has learned how to relax out in public!

Raider was with us today for an enrichment day to brush up on her skills! We went to Olde Town Alexandria and then to Sierra to beat the heat. Raider did fantastic today—evidence that her owners have kept up with her training at home. We love seeing our graduates and Raider loved getting all the attention!!

The board & trains got to explore the liveness of DC at George Mason Memorial! Exposure to different sights and smells is crucial for the development of these pups! 🐶

The park was great exposure for this nervous guy! There were basketballs, scooters, swings, and so many more moving objects that Ulysses was becoming desensitized to! He also did confidence building through getting on different objects such as the table and a bench! Great job Ulysses!!

This is HUGE progress for Ulysses!!!! He is very nervous in new environments and just a few days ago, he was pacing in circles, unable to calm down and process his thoughts at this same town center. Now, he is calmly walking on the sidewalk through One Loudoun! Showing Ulysses that he is capable of more than he thinks is very important for his socialization.
