Here are some signs and symptoms of toxicity in dogs and cats:
🤢 Vomiting and diarrhea
😵‍💫 Inability to walk, dizziness, uncoordinated gait
🫨 Trembling/Shaking
💓 Elevated Heart rate
😴 Lethargy, inability to wake up

If you are concerned in any way of a potential for toxicity in your pet, call your Vet hospital immediately.

There are certain plants that can be toxic to pets if they are ingested. You should avoid having your pet consume any type of plant as some can naturally cause vomiting and diarrhea. Here is a list of house safe plants to keep, and head over the ASPCA's poison control website for a full list of toxic and non toxic plants. 🪴

Day 2 of poison prevention week: Food!
Keeping a your pets regular dog/cat food is the best, but if you need to add a little fun, please be aware of pet safe food!

🚫Please be aware of some of the foods to avoid:🚫
Xylitol - a natural sugar that can be found in multiple items: primarily chewing gum and mints
Chocolate - especially dark and baking chocolate 🍫
Grapes/Raisin 🍇
Onions/Garlic 🧄🧅
Avocados 🥑
Fatty Food - or overly spiced meals 🍟🍔🍕

Keep harmful substances out of reach and know the signs of poisoning. When in doubt, call your vet or poison control hotline. 🐾
