Join us for the first homeschool session of the fall! Mondays 9 am - 12 pm, four weeks, $260. Ages 8-12.
The kiddos will be helping in the rabbit room and deeply exploring sustainability through scientific experimentation and creative projects. This is perfect for kids who learn by DOING and love animals. Creating a relationship with the natural world is so important at this age.

Just a word about all the people looking for "show quality" Holland Lops and Netherland Dwarfs. You probably aren't going to be able to find quality Show bunnies. The problem I keep seeing is that good breeders offer these newbies brood quality, and they are like, "nope, I want show quality." I'm sorry, but you're better off finding a good breeder and buying a trio of BROOD QUALITY, because most breeders are keeping the best for themselves, which is how it should be. Brood quality produces show quality. So buy some brood quality from a good breeder (go join some show groups to find those good breeders), and produce your own show quality bunnies.
This is Gandalf, and although he may look like a rabbit, he is totally a wizard!! He is fun and active, loves being petted, and eating ALL the salad greens. He is super clean and has perfect litterbox skills. Although his fur is white, he looks like freshly fallen snow at all times. He even has special whispy fairy hairs along his neckline as he is a lionhead mix.
He has been at our rabbitry for a few months but is looking for his perfect family. He is used to kids but will sometimes nibble if you put your hands in front of his mouth while feeding him, so advise little ones to proceed with caution.

Bean is one of our rescue rabbits and he is just darling. He has a wonderful temperament and is super sweet. He runs to the door when you come in to feed him and LOVES being petted. He is getting used to being picked up but is still building trust around this activity. He handles it well, but still tenses up a bit when first being picked up. With consistent work, he will be easily handled in the future.
He came to us in good condition from a family that simply did not have the time for him. He is under a year old and would be a good fit with a family or an individual that gives him a lot of attention. We feel that he would like to bond very closely with someone, mostly so that he can be petted all day.

I’ve been quiet for awhile because we are gearing up for a new events season and have been absolutely slammed! Which is a great problem to have, but I miss being creative here with all of you.
This is where my creative energy is going this week. I’ve been designing signage for our events. We wanted to be as green as possible so we have been wanting to design signs with QR codes instead of passing out business cards.
Whenever we do an event, we get tons of questions about how groups can do events with us and I’m hoping these signs will give me a professional feeling way of getting that info to as many people as possible. The code links right to our Events Services page.

New Rescue Alert!
Squibbles was living outside without appropriate housing to keep him warm, dry, and safe. A kind individual saved him and brought him to Breadbox.
He is a mixed Himalayan breed, about the size of a house cat, mostly white with silver shading on his nose and ears and beautiful ruby pink eyes.
He is very friendly and active. He would do well free range or with a large (and secure) garden space. He does not love being picked up but will accommodate it if needed so with practice and gentle care, he can definitely build trust around this. He does love being pet and will lay next to your leg.
Please pass this handsome boys info on to anyone who may be looking. We have transport options for across the US.

A new rescue rabbit is ready to go!
This is Birch. He’s the sweetest boy Holland Lop and would love to make your home even cozier. He loves snuggles and pets from an adult or older child, but is a bit shy of young children.
Birch is about 5 months old and gets along with other rabbits and cats. He is getting used to our new puppy as well. He is okay with being picked up but can get a little scared on the decent so put him down very slowly. He’s a good eater and loves to hop around our gardens nibbling the herbs.
Is there anything better than a loaf with a little molt rainbow over the nose? 🌈

Gently posing a Netherland Dwarf at 5 weeks old. While we won’t be choosing which rabbits we will be keeping quite this early, we are always eager to see how our kits are developing. Posing them shows who has the best type and proportions. We are looking for a nice top line, wide chests, chunky hindquarters, and good overall proportion with well defined muscle mass and bone. The heads come in later but we are already looking for wide faces with tiny ears.
