Who are the ‘hearts’ in Rottweiler Hearts Rescue, you ask? We are five experienced Rottweiler owners and rescuers. Not one of us will hesitate to step in when needed and do what we need to do to help a dog. At this time, adoptions are limited to NC, SC, MD and VA. Would you like to foster? All RHR dogs are kept in foste

r homes - without dedicated foster homes we couldn't save lives! Rottweiler Hearts Rescue Rottweilers will be placed in pre-approved, screened, foster homes. Each foster must complete a foster application and sign a foster contract. RHR foster dogs must be kept indoors as part of the family. RHR will provide all medical care and can loan fosters any supplies they may need. We ask fosters to provide food, love, and some basic training and house manners. We have the "Foster Buddy" program where we match up a volunteer with each foster to help that foster as needed. This could be picking up the dog for a vet visit or taking the dog to an event if the foster is unable. VA, NC, MD, SC

XENA is now in a foster home and living large! This adorable 1 year old has put on some much needed weight and looks amazing (she weighs approx. 67 pounds).. Xena is super sweet but slower to warm up to men. She appeared to be dog friendly at the shelter - we are going slow on introductions in her foster home. Xena is learning to enjoy a variety of new toys and seems quite pleased with her new choices.

Xena is current on vaccines, crate trained and has been accident free in her foster home. She will meet the vet this week (weather permitting) and get scheduled for her spay.

Thank you Christi Florio Isley and Renee Bryant for helping with her great escape from the shelter toa short-term boarding and now a foster home!

Our boy, Bradford is still looking for his person. Here's an update from his foster momma 💙

Foster Bradford (blind in one eye). Has been seen by 3 vets (including an eye specialist) and all verify eye situation is not painful and does not need any intervention. His age is questionable- juvenile for sure, but not really puppy. Learning manners - super friendly, active, playful. Likes to get your attention with little nibbles. Probably best for older kids who don’t get nervous - he likes to jump up for attention seeking. We are working on this. Walks well on leash -

Cat friendly
Female dog friendly
Possible non reactive male dog friendly
Older Kids (have not tested kids in general).
Crate trained no potty issues in crate
Still lifts leg in house at times. No chewing or distriction except to bedding and his toys.
Loves a good pbutter bone.
Howls at sirens 🙄

Looking for an active household. He is not a couch potato at this stage in his life. He will lay down after walks or playtime.

Wes is 4 yrs old, neutered, hw- and utd on shots. He loves his ball and he loves his walks. He does not like little dogs and little kids(but lets be honest, who does?🤣🤣🤣🤣)

Meet our sweet girl, Uma 🩷
NC, SC, VA, MD

If you're looking for a fun-loving, smart, and athletic companion, look no further than Uma! This friendly adult dog is full of energy and curiosity. She's always down for a game of fetch, a long play session or even just a cozy nap on the couch. She enjoys meeting new people almost as much as she loves sniffing new smells. This smart cookie is always up for learning new tricks and she's an absolute pro at giving you puppy eyes and showering you with kisses. Uma has not had the opportunity to play one on one with other dogs but showed zero reactivity to other dogs in a crowded shelter.

Uma is estimated to be around 4 years old. Her last weight was 76 pounds. Uma is fully vaccinated.

Ivy got to experience her first snow fall and absolutely loves playing in it ☃️ Ivy is in foster near Syracuse/Ithaca NY She is 10 months old, crate and potty trained and in foster with dogs of all sizes. She is on the smaller size at only 45 pounds. Children over 10 for this girl as she is still learning manners and does jump sometimes. Ivy would love a home with a fenced in yard so she can run and play. She would also love a fur sibling. Unfortunately George needs a new home. The resident dog is not appreciating George's puppy play. George's foster mom will take him back but we need help transporting from the Charlotte, NC area to Virginia Beach, VA. George😍 Puppy spam- curious George, my foster puppy is looking for his family. He is the last of the “3 Amigo” puppy group. He is getting bigger by the week. Dog/cat friendly. Puppy antics in that he still chews on things available to him. He has a short attention span- playful- likes to be w his hoomans. Snores when he sleeps. He is not a fan of crates- but is ok to be in a gated off safe space. Best with another buddy for companionship/ shenanigans. Has tinkle accidents if you don’t take out but we are working on that. Has been good overnight.
