Who are the ‘hearts’ in Rottweiler Hearts Rescue, you ask? We are five experienced Rottweiler owners and rescuers. Not one of us will hesitate to step in when needed and do what we need to do to help a dog. At this time, adoptions are limited to NC, SC, MD and VA. r homes - without dedicated foster homes we couldn't save lives! Rottweiler Hearts Rescue Rottweilers will be placed in pre-approved, screened, foster homes. Each foster must complete a foster application and sign a foster contract. RHR foster dogs must be kept indoors as part of the family. RHR will provide all medical care and can loan fosters any supplies they may need. We ask fosters to provide food, love, and some basic training and house manners. We have the "Foster Buddy" program where we match up a volunteer with each foster to help that foster as needed. This could be picking up the dog for a vet visit or taking the dog to an event if the foster is unable. Majesty went on a little fun field trip to the Veterinarian's office to show her the world isn't such a scary place.
Taking your dog when they don't need a visit helps calm their nerves and show that the vet can be fun!
Here's a quick note from her foster mom....

Majesty had her “happy visit” to Centerville Animal Hospital today. She received treats and praise with no pressure other than visiting. Got up on the scale like a big girl. Is at 44.7 pounds. She has gained 5lbs since last visit. Thrilled with her progress.

Ivy is 10 months old and ready to find her family. She does well with dogs of all sizes and would love to have a fur sibling to play with!!

Tongue out Tuesday for Ms. Ivy 😛

Ivy is ten months old, spayed, vaccinated, crate trained and HW negative.
She is looking for her forever home with children over 12 (she's still a puppy and does get excited and jumps).
She would love another dog in the home to play with and a fenced in yard. She is in foster with dogs of all sizes and does well .
Ivy is located in Ithaca, NY and will need to ideally be adopted within 2-3 hours of there.

Meet Bradford

Foster Bradford is still waiting for his special family. Bradford is looking to be a young adult. Various opinions on age, no new growth in height leads me to believe he is full grown stocky and shorter side but definitely not petit. He is blind in one eye with eye malformation or eye injury when a puppy. He will be seeing a specialist to decide best course to remove or not. He is solid wrecking ball. High activity level. Likes to greet with a big ole jump on ya and run😜. He is good walker on leash. Loves everyone - cat friendly but he is extra friendly and kisses and licks all parts of the kitty, all parts. 🙄

He is female friendly and quite possibly male dog friendly if the other male is happy happy happy. He is NOT male dog friendly with any that have reactivity as he matches that energy.

He would be best suited to a family that is very active and has an outlet for all his energy. He crates and will bark when not included on the activities going on around him. He loves being outside and by your side. He play fetch or not. He loves tug of war. He plays rough bitey face tail nub ears legs with his friends. He is an attention seeker that will play with his humans like he does with his canine companions. For this reason and his Jedi jumping abilities children would need to be older or at least ones use to being bumped into with this little rocket boy.

Where are all my running hiking Rottie lovers? Wear out your kids and exercise Bradford at the same time! Your welcome. 😜

Meet Ivy 🩷

We have expanded our rescue to upstate NY! Ivy is looking for her forever home within 2-3 hours of Ithaca, NY.

This sweet girl has had a really tough start at life coming to us from an abuse/neglect situation.
Ivy is 10 months old, spayed, hw negative and vaccinated. She is on the smaller side. A perfect pocket rottie!
She is working hard on her potty training. She has mastered sit and coming when called and is crate trained.
Ivy lives in foster with small and large dogs and does well.
Ivy needs a home with children over 10 as she does have puppy energy and will jump sometimes.
Ivy would do best in a home with another dog that can help teach her that not everything is scary and who also loves to run and play.
A fenced in yard is a must!
Ivy loves women but can be a little slow to warm up to men. However, once she does she becomes a complete love bug!

Amazing adoption news 🎉💙

Remember our handsome little Rottie mix, Willie? After a long stint in boarding and a few hit and misses with fosters, Willie found his people. Check out these pics his Mama sent us yesterday!

We have taken plenty of flak for boarding dogs - and trust me, we don’t want to - but seeing dogs like this who would have been PTS without the boarding option reassures me that we are doing the right thing!

A little note from Ember"s foster mom....🩷

Ember had a great time today. I’m trying to get her use to riding so we headed over to a new park to walk around. Then we went over to TSC. She loves meeting new people and they complimented how well behaved she was. She did so well walking around the store and exploring new things. She makes her foster mom so proud. Love this sweet girl ❤

VA, NC, MD, SC Foster hero needed ASAP! Shelter is full and cannot hold him any longer. Dog-friendly 2 year old. Currently located in Newport News, Virginia. RHR pays all medical including the entropion surgery he needs. DM us ASAP if you can be his hero!

VA, NC, SC FOSTER NEEDED ASAP! He has Demodex mange (this is NOT contagious to other dogs) and needs entropion surgery which our rescue will pay for. Heartworm negative. About 2 years old. Please DM our page!

Unfortunately George needs a new home. The resident dog is not appreciating George's puppy play. George's foster mom will take him back but we need help transporting from the Charlotte, NC area to Virginia Beach, VA. George😍 Puppy spam- curious George, my foster puppy is looking for his family. He is the last of the “3 Amigo” puppy group. He is getting bigger by the week. Dog/cat friendly. Puppy antics in that he still chews on things available to him. He has a short attention span- playful- likes to be w his hoomans. Snores when he sleeps. He is not a fan of crates- but is ok to be in a gated off safe space. Best with another buddy for companionship/ shenanigans. Has tinkle accidents if you don’t take out but we are working on that. Has been good overnight.

NC, SC, VA, MD It's ANNIE's time to shine and find her forever home! This very sweet middle-aged girl is quite active enjoying a couple of hikes a week and playing with toys every chance she gets. Annie loves all of her toys and is happy to enjoy them on her own or share them with you. She will soak up all the attention you will give her. Annie has done well with some male dogs but a meet and greet would be needed or she would be happy to be your one and only! Please apply at rottweilerheartsrescue.org.

NC, VA, SC, MD Meet Tiny 😍 From her foster parents..... Tiny might be smaller than your average rottie but her personality is big! At 60lbs and almost 2 years old, Tiny is a cute “pocket rottie”. She likes to play with dogs and cuddle with humans. She’s food motivated and pretty easy to train and we're working on her leash manners. She is housebroken, crate trained, quiet and friendly. Since she's young, she does have a good amount of energy but she calms down and snuggles with you after a long walk. She has a high prey drive for small animals, so would probably be best in a home without cats. We haven't tested her with small dogs. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. Heartworm negative. Meet the handsome, Bari 😍 Here's a note from his foster mom. This is my sweet foster dog through Rottweiler Hearts Rescue 🤎 this sweet boy is ready for his forever home! As Bari’s foster mom I can tell you that this boy melts my heart everyday! Bari’s favorite activities include playing with his tennis balls, nibbling (not destroying) soft toys, cuddling and eating yummy snacks! Bari has become very treat motivated and is VERY smart! He is currently boarding with us and I can tell that this boy has been the perfect guest! He actually loves to go into his enclosure, he runs straight to it with no direction or leash required at this point, he is a quick learner! When goes in he just lays down and nibbles his toys or throws them around 😆 he entertains himself but is also entertaining to watch!!!! You cannot help falling in love with this boy! Bari has never used the bathroom in his enclosure overnight he is fully crate trained if needed and he seems to be a “den dog” and may prefer his own space. Bari will go to his new home- fully groomed, carrying his “swag bag” filled with some of his current food to mix in with your food of choice, a bag of his favorite treats that he cannot resist, his current favorite soft toys and a bag of fresh balls 🎾 #bari #rhr #rottweiler #rottweilerheartsrescue #adoptarottweiler

Check out RHR BARI! This youngster is athletic, loves toys (especially balls) and entertains himself when foster mom is busy!

Check out young Ace leaving with his new foster/adopters! Ace found himself in an overcrowded shelter faced with a final hold date earlier this week. Look at him now! He seems to be fairly well enamored with his older sister, Zella. Ace is one of the lucky ones. So many great dogs are not so fortunate. Our little rescue has saved a bunch of Rotties this week and are fighting the good fight to do our part.
