Meet the Team! This is Carrie – Growing up with a menagerie of rescue animals, Carrie learned the commitment and joy of pet care. She has volunteered for the Humane Society and the Lichterman Nature Center in Memphis, TN, rehabbing wildlife.

After studying music therapy at Lesley University, Carrie worked as a music therapist in Boston before relocating to North Carolina. She fell in love with the area (and her husband!), and they’ve lived there since.

Now in Chatham County, Carrie lives with her husband, two children, two Little Brown Dogs, and a friendly house rabbit. She also volunteers at Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge, enjoying time with goats, ducks, geese, turkeys, and chickens.

Meet the team! This is Francis – Since the moment she adopted her first black Lab at a young age, she was hooked. And her connection to animals, especially dogs, continued to grow as she sought out volunteer work. She has pivoted her career to animal advocacy and hopes to one day partner with a nonprofit to create a sanctuary for neglected animals.

Francis enjoys a good run, taking day trips to the beach with a self-help book, and playing fetch with her ball-obsessed Boston Terrier mix, Phoenix. She can also be found in the kitchen with her pug, Koa, channeling her passions for mindful living and plant-based cooking into delicious recipes – of course, always paying the carrot tax to Koa!

Meet the team! This is Evie – Through training her own dogs and coaching kids through the Carrboro mountain bike program, Evie learned how to encourage and inspire fun and movement in other people and animals alike! She adores all pets, with a particular soft spot for Pit Bulls and big, energetic dogs.

When Evie is not spending time with her Pittie, Maddie, she is out Mountain Biking around the RDU Triangle area and the Western NC Mountains. She also loves spending time watching underdog movies with her family. If you see Evie biking around Chapel Hill and Carrboro, be sure to wave!

Meet the team! This is Hannah – Hannah has always loved animals. She has had numerous pets in her life and currently has two cats, a tabby named Merlin and Charley, a Calico cat. She also has two horses named Frosty and Aibileen. Hannah has worked on horse farms as a stable hand, groomer, and barn manager. She takes pride in her attention to detail and thorough wellness checks on the animals she cares for.

Hannah is always seeking to further her education on animal behavior, biology, and welfare. On the farm, her favorite responsibilities included horse care and feeding and playing with the barn cats.

Meet the team! This is Juno – A lifelong animal lover, she hails from New Jersey and has a Bachelor’s degree in Art from Penn State and studied Art Therapy at The New School in NYC.

After moving to NC, Juno worked for the Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC). Through ASNC’s Creative Living program for adults, she cultivated a safe and loving environment for participants to get into the flow of their unique creative processes.

Juno has devoted the past 12 years to raising her three spirited children. She has a 16-year-old cat and two Netherland Dwarf bunnies. She is beyond excited that her path has led her to spending more time loving animals!

Meet the team! This is Pat – she's a freelance interior designer by day but a pet enthusiast at heart. Originally from Thailand, she spent a decade polishing her design skills before making the move to the US three years ago. Now, she enjoys the freedom of setting her own schedule and dedicating ample time to furry friends.

Though Pat misses her two cats back home, she’s found comfort and fulfillment in pet sitting here in the US. When she’s not working on design projects or hanging out with pets, you can find Pat in the kitchen cooking up delicious Southeast Asian dishes or baking. Living in Chapel Hill, she has also become a huge fan of UNC basketball. Go Heels!

Meet the team! This is Eleanor – after enjoying the serene life of a stay-at-home mom and substitute teacher, she recently embarked on a new career journey as a restaurant owner. She co-runs Bombolo in Chapel Hill, recently named North Carolina’s Restaurant of the Year by Eater, as the pastry cook and wine buyer.

Eleanor shares her home with her two teen boys and two beloved Basset Hounds. When not caring for kids or pets, she enjoys working in her flower and herb gardens, reading as much as she can, and studying Italian.

Meet foster kittens Greta & Toby, who are looking for their purrfect forever home where they will be very loved and cared for indoors.

They are both very loving and will make excellent indoor forever companions for the right family / household.

Here's more info about this sweet pair from their foster mom, Walk & Wag team member Izzy: Toby (all black, with a couple white hairs woven through the black on his back) and Greta (a cloudy tabby) are very sweet, playful, and loving. They are approximately 3-4 months old, have been spayed and neutered, and will have received all of their shots. Greta is a little more timid and takes some time to warm up to humans, while Toby is a bit more confident in his pursuits for affection. They will likely get along with other cats, as they have grown up alongside other cats and are very fond of each other.
