More love for Babi! ❤🥰
"Babi is really a perfect dog. We had such a fun day with her. Although she is a bit on the older side, she had no shortage of energy. We started the day with a run on the Bolin Creek trail which she did great on. She didn't pull on the leash or stop too much and can match speed really well. She was a little bit reactive towards other dogs (barking and pulling towards them) but was fine other than that, and that was her only flaw. After our walk, we had tons of cuddle and play time inside and she did great. She seems housetrained and goes to the door when she needs to go outside. She loves to play and is also one of the best cuddlers ever. She is so sweet and will lay her head on your lap or just lay right on top of you. We took her to an ice cream shop to get a pup cup and she won over every person who walked in. She was great about not begging for or stealing food and wasn't reactive to loud noises like blenders. She didn't bark once at any person and was great with people of all ages, including babies! She sat or laid down at my feet most of the time and was so great. She did very well in the car and laid down gently. She is just the sweetest dog and has so much love to give. She would do so well as a family dog!"

"Babi was such a sweet girl. Super chill and so well behaved. She seems potty trained, was excited to go on walks and be in the car and loved a pup cup. She loved sitting in the apartment, never barked, and was soooo cute and sweet! We loved her and hope she finds a great home ASAP."

If you're able to donate, we need more products that help our shelter dogs with itchy skin. We often have dogs with skin issues for a variety of reasons. One of the most common reasons is flea allergy dermatitis, which is a skin condition caused by an allergic reaction to flea bites. Symptoms are intense itching, redness and inflammation, hair loss or thinning, scaliness or dandruff, crusting or scabbing, and sometimes infection. At the top of our Amazon Wish List (https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/26NMC8BMN4O63?ref_=wl_share) you'll see our most-needed, OTC flea & tick prevention products and other products that help with treatment of skin issues.

HAPPY ADOPTION UPDATE!
"Thank you Orange County Animal Shelter for our new pup (Gotcha Day: Feb. 03). We call him Oslo now! He’s such a good and happy boy. He’s super smart and learning quickly — how to walk on leash, how to be calm, to sit/lay down/stay, place training, and lots of other things. We love taking him for long walks, throwing the tennis ball in our fenced-in backyard, and snuggling. We’re learning more about our challenge areas — some resource guarding, mouthy, jumpy, the usual young pup impulses — but we’re working on it all through training. We just know he’s going to be an amazing dog. We love spending time with our sweet Oslo! 10/10 doggo!" 🥰

"I had so much fun with Becker this weekend. She is the sweetest girl who has a lot of fun energy, but is definitely anxious. She seems fully house trained, does well on the leash, and is very gentle when taking treats/food from your hand. She loves to chew on toys/bones and to play fetch. She also slept with me the entire night and didn’t keep me up at all. She does have some anxiety getting in and out of the car. She would do best in a home with owners who have the time and patience to help get this sweet girl her confidence back."

Thanks so much to Chapel Hill Magazine for featuring Freckles!
Who has all the right speckles, loves peanut butter and adores her people? Freckles! This 4-year-old beauty came to Orange County Animal Services (NC) as a stray, so her history is a bit of a mystery. However, her finder said that she enjoyed playing with another dog after proper introductions. Slow, planned and monitored introductions to pets and people are always needed to ensure harmony. She has exhibited a high prey drive, so she should not be in a home with cats or small animals – but she's totally ready to please her people! 💘

Watch Princess fetch her ball on the beautiful beach! 🥰
"Princess is an absolute sweetheart. She has a heart of gold and tons of love to spread. We have been fostering Princess for 2 weeks now and have fallen in love with her. She is very treat and food motivated. Her favorite thing to do is give lots and lots of kisses. She is very quiet in the house and peacefully sits on the couch or bed. She is not reactive to other dogs on walks and minds her own business. She loves going to the park and playing fetch. We took her to the beach and she wasn't a big fan of the water but loved playing with her ball and sitting on the beach chairs, soaking up the sun. Everywhere we went, every person who met her fell in love instantly. She loves meeting new people and gets comfortable with them very quickly. She loves car rides and peacefully watches cars go by or snoozes on the back seat. She can't wait to find a forever home who can soak up all the love she has to give."

Sweet Suki had a blast on her adventure away from the shelter. Check out these insights from her adventure buddy:
"I had a great time on my Dog Day Out with Suki. She is such a good girl. She was a little nervous in the car at first but quickly settled down. We had a nice hike at Blackwood Farm with lots of time to roll in the grass, her favorite thing! After our hike, we stopped by Starbucks for a pup cup and then some toy shopping at Petco. Suki loves plushie toys that squeak. We spent the next few hours playing with the new toys in the backyard. She loves to sit in your lap and gives lots of kisses, knows sit, and takes treats gently. ..She is the BEST girl and deserves a home where she can be spoiled, and give and get lots of love."

More love for sweet Tigger! 😍 ...
"Tigger is a professional cuddler! He loves to be wherever you are, to snuggle under blankets, and to give kisses. He is good on the leash, greeting everyone we saw with a friendly wagging tail. He pulled one time on our walks, but didn’t bark, when we saw a neighborhood cat that ran across the road. I think Tigger would make a great first time rescue pup for someone who has been thinking about rescuing but is unsure. He acclimated quickly to his new environment, and we saw plenty of personality from him on day one. He also comes when called and listens to 'sit' and 'shake' commands. An overall really intelligent, sweet, and playful guy. We had a great time!"
