Reminder!
We will be closed June 27th- July 7th! We will be back in the office Monday, July 8th! Our veterinarian is out of town at a conference for continuing education and, unfortunately, relief veterinarians were unable to be found for coverage.
We will have limited hours of people being in the office. If you need medication refills, please message the FB page for the quickest response. Appts for surgery can also be booked through this.

REMINDER!
IT'S FIREWORK SEASON!

A Few friendly reminders-
1. Please make sure your dog has a collar and tags with your current phone number and address in case they run off! This makes for a quick and easy recovery
2. If your pet is scared of fireworks, please come in next week Mon-Wed to pick up meds. If you are not an established client, you can walk in for an appt those days during the hours of 930a-4p.
3. Over the counter medications can be dangerous and not effective with firework induced anxiety. Please use vet prescribed medications.

WE DID IT!!! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT SHARED AND DONATED FOR MAC!

He has arrived at the rescue and already has a potential adopter lined up. It will be a wonderful home. I know Mac will have the best chance at life now. We will miss him, but goodbye is always the goal!

🚨🚨 MAC NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!

I’ll try to make his story and sweet. A couple months ago, we acquired Mac from Pike County Animal Shelter in Kentucky. He came in for his neuter and he was picked to go on transport. A young, handsome 1 year old tuxedo, who wouldn’t want him? He missed his first transport because he had developed an infection, that was all cleared up. Second transport comes along and Mac’s combo test came back and FeLV+ (feline leukemia). That rescue did not take FeLV cats, so Mac was back to square one.

We started looking for rescues and most had a waiting list and while we waited we sent off a test to confirm his FeLV status. It came back that Mac has progressive feline leukemia. THIS IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE! A lot of places euthanize FeLV cats, but we weren’t going to give up that easily. Mac is a very healthy cat with one of the best personalities we’ve seen.

MAC HAS RESCUE EVERYONE!!! This is where we need the communities help. In order to get Mac into the rescue, we have to make a $300 donation on his behalf. Some may ask why, but this rescue does not charge an adoption fee since they only take on FeLV cats. This will cover whatever he needs in his foster home until he’s adopted.

Saturday, May 8th, Mac will be headed to Furever Home Rescue in Mount Airy, Maryland. Our employee that handles the cat rescue side of the clinic will be making the over 5 hour (ONE WAY!!) journey, Cindy Gay. With the donation and gas alone, it will easily be over $400 to make the trip. Yes, Mac is 100% worth it. It is very hard to find rescue for FeLV+ cats, while Mac is very healthy now, that is the downside of feline leukemia. He could become sick and no animal deserves to spend what life they have waiting for rescue. This is his chance.

If we can all pull together, I know we can do this for Mac. We believe in helping the animals that we can, while we know we can’t save everyone, we can save Mac and give him the life he deserves. While we do mainly focus on low cost spay/neuter, we also try our best to send what cats we can to rescue and help the community. We have quite a few medical cases right now that we will post about later, but this post is about Mac.

There are multiple ways you can help, if you can’t donate, please share this video! The more people we reach, the better our chances are at fulfilling this goal.

We’d like to raise at least $400 to cover the donation and some of the gas needed for transportation.

WORLD VET DAY

Everyone meet Aelin. We strive to help the community the best way we can with spaying and neutering animals. Last week, someone came in and had said that they had a stray cat that was left behind by the owners and said she was pregnant. We offered to spay the cat for free, but we weren’t in the position to take her in and find rescue. She would have to go back to where she had came from.

The person came in yesterday and dropped the cat off and just left. We were finally able to get ahold of her and while she proceeded to call on our employees a liar and then said if the cat returned she would shoot it herself.

We weren’t going to let that happen, so we now have Aelin. She is a total sweetheart, but we already have so many cats needing rescue, we didn’t need another.

This is where the community can help!
It is not cheap to take care of all of the cats in our care.

It is that time of the year again. We have multiple bottle babies on our care, as well as quite a few kittens between the clinic and in foster.

KITTEN SEASON IS HERE WITH A BANG!

We have recently taken in a lot of stray cats or owner surrenders. We are running VERY low on cat food. We are trying to prepare for the influx of kittens that will be coming in. We will post our wish list and if anyone is able to send us some donations that would be greatly appreciated!

We can always use litter as well, but we only use the pellet litter from tractor supply. It’s much cheaper and doesn’t make the mess that clay litter does! Also, it is safe for kittens. We will post a picture of the litter in case you want to order that.
