ROCKY GOES HOME | On Wednesday, K-9 Rocky tracked down the man investigators say killed Brazoria Co. Deputy Jesus Vargas. That suspect shot Rocky twice before being killed. Today, Rocky left the hospital.

Many people are drawn to these dogs because of their working abilities, but they’re not always aware of the level of commitment required. Working-line dogs thrive on structure, tasks, and challenges they’re not typically “couch potatoes.” Without the proper outlet for their energy and drive, they can develop behavioral problems or become set clear expectations when thinking about these breeds you have to know that they’re suited for experienced handlers, active lifestyles, or specific roles like protection, search and rescue, or sport training. It’s not just about owning a dog; it’s about being prepared to provide them with the physical and mental exercise they need to be happy and well-adjusted.

We are EXCITED to have Danny Lease join us for an Introduction to Birds Workshop on April 26th and 27th. This workshop will be for dogs of all breeds and experience levels. Even our pointy ear German Shepherds will be joining in on the fun.

Working Spots are LIMITED to 10 on Saturday and 8 on Sunday and will fill FAST!!

‼️WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT‼️

🎉🎉 RH(International Search and Rescue Sport) Workshop with Stanley Craddock🎉🎉

I will be hosting an RH Workshop May 23rd to 25th at our facility Country Roads Canine Activities in Grafton, WV. Please see the flyer for details. Feel free to PM me for more info and to sign up.

Workshop Ouline:
- Friday: arrive by 3 PM, conduct an overview presentation of the RH rules and description of the V (beginner) and A (intermediate) nosework exercises and the obedience and dexterity phase.

- Saturday: focus on teaching obedience and dexterity exercises in a round-robin participation style. This group-work tends to be essential for dogs and handlers to become "somewhat" comfortable with many dogs simultaneously being in the training space. SAFETY is #1 for both dogs and handlers. We may introduce or demo indication options depending on how the dogs and handlers are doing physically and mentally.

- Sunday: practice the various nosework disciplines that participants would like to do with their dogs. Explain, demo, and problem solve.
