PrideLands had to retire our Ukrainian import Zuri today as she had a severe case of pyometra and was spayed. She was such a good momma and is doing well after surgery. Getting lots of love and care.

PrideLands is pleased to announce that we have had a successful breeding between Seek (daughter of our Ukrainian import Zuri from Kiswahili Kennels and Themba the first PrideLands stud Slovakian lines) and Obi. We are now taking deposits. These puppies should have a darker reddish brown red Wheaton coat and should be average sized. Anyone familiar or who have met these two especially Themba knows how special these puppies will be. I may even keep a male myself. Pictures are on our website and feel free to message or email us for more information. Puppies should be due in February to go home eight weeks later. 🐾🐾

We absolutely love getting updates at PrideLands and this one is close to my heart. This past summer someone reached out to me for a puppy from our summer litter. He had explained to me that he and his family had lived in Zimbabwe for a while ministering in South Africa. Then Covid hit and they had to move back to the US and leave behind their Ridgeback with friends since they were not allowed to ship her into the US at that time. He ended up with lime boy or Trooper from the Nyx X Obi litter and this is what he wrote us.

Aw that is awesome! Trooper is doing phenomenal as well. He currently measures 26” at the withers and weighs about 60-65 lbs (my guess, haven’t weighed in a bit). I’ve been feeding him mostly the Zimbabwean corn meal mash (sadza- pictured on the bottom) and browned (not raw) game meat. My main reason for browning has been that my supply has been primarily bear and wild hog up to this point which are both prone to trichinosis, although that lot in the picture is whitetail venison that I just harvested on Thanksgiving.

And as for his demeanor, you could not have been more right. He is such a tender hearted and loyal soul. He has been the BEST dog we have ever had in terms of just connecting with everyone and obeying. He is super smart and a problem solver. He did meet his first racc**n the other day and wended up hiding behind me a good bit 😂 but the c**n dog trainer said that’s normal and most pups don’t start interacting with c**ns until they’re about a year old.

You may appreciate this- I have kept my Rhodie friends in Zim updated on his progress by photos. He gets rave reviews all the way around. So you have the true Rhodesian ✅of approval 😂

Love love love that one of my owners ( Mr. Anakin) is feeding a raw diet!!! So good for them and how nature intended with no chemicals and processed junk! These sweet babies just waiting so patiently. 😍
