Zero is calling it an early night 😴

This cuddly boy is still patiently waiting on his forever family! Zero would love a home where he can have lots of fun and playtime, but also lots of snuggles when it’s time to take a cat-nap. He loves other kitties, dogs, and would likely be great with kids.

🥶⛑️🐾 What to Do If You Find a Hypothermic Cat (or other pet) 🐾⛑️🥶

If you find a cat that appears cold, lethargic, or unresponsive, it may be suffering from hypothermia, which can be life-threatening. Here’s how to help:

1️⃣ Bring the Cat to a Warm, Safe Place - Gently wrap the cat in warm, dry blankets or towels. Avoid sudden temperature changes—DO NOT place the cat near a direct heat source like a heater or hot water.

2️⃣ Check for Immediate Danger - Look for signs like cold ears, paws, or body, shivering, or labored breathing. If the cat is unconscious or unresponsive, seek emergency help immediately.

3️⃣ Warm the Cat GRADUALLY - Use warm (not hot) water bottles wrapped in cloth or a heating pad set to low to SLOWLY warm them up. Place them near the cat but never directly on its skin.

❗DO NOT wash or bathe the cat, DO NOT use direct heat sources or try and get the cat to eat or drink❗Contact a veterinarian or rescue group for immediate assistance - it could mean the difference between life and death.

Important Message from our Board of Directors President:

IBKC took in not one but two frozen kitties this morning. The one in the picture did not make it. This is reality folks and it’s gut wrenching. 💔

See a stray? Bring them inside. Make up a feral tote enclosure filled with straw (not hay or blankets). Put a heated cat house on your porch. Set them up in a half bath or garage until temps are above freezing. Have freaking compassion!

Even if you aren’t in animal rescue, you are a human being. We must do better. They deserve better.

🖤 Zero is a fun and rambunctious little guy! He loves to play with toys and romp around with his foster siblings. He’s always on the move! But when he’s finally ready to take a moment to chill out until the next round of zoomies, he’s the sweetest little cuddle bug. Zero loves other cats and he doesn’t mind his husky brother either! Zero would make a great addition to any person or family willing to play and give him lots of love!

🧡 MEET FELICITY 🧡

🧡 Felicity is a young female, with a lot of love to give! She is around 1yr old and quite independent. Felicity loves to greet her foster mom and enjoys getting petted. She is in a foster home with other cats, which she tolerates, but for the most part Felicity keeps to herself when the others are playing. Loves her people though and will purr when she’s getting affection.

Felicity would do best in a calmer household with maybe one or two other cats with similar personalities. Otherwise, she’d love to be the center of attention as the only pet!

Contact Meow Cat Rescue WV if you have a cat that needs spayed/neutered!

We have several spay and neuter appointments available for next Wednesday, January 15th. Must be able to drop off/pickup at the Fixem Clinic. MCR will cover the cost of the surgery and a rabies vaccine. Any other services would be the responsibility of the owner.

Priority will go to community members. First come, first serve. Please send us a private message.

🩷MEET COCO…

🩷She takes a while to warm up so the adopter will have to be a little patient. Once she does she is super playful and funny. She doesn’t like to be held but does like to sleep with you at night. She likes to be petted but only on her terms. She absolutely HATES being in a carrier and she will be a jerk for about 24 hours afterward. She seems to like other cats and dogs. She’s about 6 months old.

♥️💚Meet Talley ~5-6 years old

♥️💚This sweet girl was found on the streets in Charleston in need of care. She had several infections and required some dental extractions. We think she lived a rough life prior to foster care, but you'd never know it based on how affectionate she is. She isn't big on playing with toys, but she's very serious about giving love to people whether it's cuddling, laying on your lap, or giving the best head boops. She does well with other cats and would make a great companion. She would love to be adopted with her foster sister, Keke.

🖤She is FIV positive and, as a result, is best as the sole cat in a household. She's used to spending time and playing alone, but still has plenty of zest for life and a PAWS-itive attitude! All this girl wants is to be someone's snuggle buddy for life.
