Just an update on Ra. The wound looks bad right now but it's not. His shell is actually starting to fuse back together!!! He's blind so I can't release him. But he's eating and drinking water and he loves apples! His favorite thing to do is hang out in his water bowl. You can even see it's fusing!

Right now I have to be selective about the turtles I take in. Right now my time is spent helping this guy get better. He was a victim of a car strike. But he's lived past the 4 day bench mark. He's going to lose one of his eyes. But he's going to survive. Meet Ra, named after the Egyptian sun god. He looks like he has little suns all over his back.

I wish I had good news. We had to move. We are currently in a hotel, and there's not a lot of room. I can't take in anymore turtle for the time being. If it's a rare species like a diamondback terrapin or African side neck, or a turtle with metabolic bone disease or something similar, I can help.

I found this teeny tiny Mediterranian House Gecko at work tonight. It's barely an inch long. It's getting cold here at night now, in the 40s. So I now have my first non-turtle rescue since around 2017, which also happened to be Mediterranian House Geckos as well. So welcome home Little Tolli "G"! I work at Tolli's Trattoria Italian restaurant. So this little guy's (or girl's) name is Little Tolli "G" (Little Tolli Gecko).***apparently this species of gecko doesn't fare well in captivity. So I let it loose in the house, after setting up a little den for it!***

I still have very limited intake at the moment. But once we move and get settled, I should be able to start taking in some more turtles. My former manager and coworker gave me an incredibly generous donation of several tanks and a lot of equipment such as heaters, filters, live plants, etc. So a big thanks to Carmine! And a special thanks to Carmine's dad Anthony (who's my boss) for bringing them to me at work! I was in desperate need for all of it. I have the best boss!
