This funky little kiddo hatched out this morning! Loving the pattern and structure -- looking like it'll have strong brindle pattern with some cloudy white harlequin pattern spreading over time. Def interested to watch it develop!

Just had this huge baby gargoyle hatch out at 125 days! Mom is a red stripe and dad is an orange blotch, so I'm thinking this one will color up as it grows. Happy for a very healthy baby!

There are a lot of awesome gecko breeders hatching out beautiful leachies right now, but I'm still years away from that point. My job right now is to add cuties like this to the gecko gang to grow out. I def don't want to be caught lacking in 4-5 years when most of my leachie pairing begins!

This little Yate + Type A/C/B mix just arrived from this morning and she is an absolute sweetheart! She is so very chonky (from the Yate influence, I assume) and does the cutest little whistles when held. Swipe to see the parents! Photo cred goes to JBI Reptiles!

The goal for me right now is to plan and build projects so that when my geckos are old enough to be paired, they have the proper mate options to produce desirable stuff. This is an especially intensive process with leachianus because not every planned pair will get along. It's good to have a back up male for a project just in case the female isn't feeling her intended mate.

This lady's intended partner is a purple island mix. I'm hoping for size + lots of purple pattern in the offspring.

I do still have a few gargoyles and cresteds being paired and lots of exciting projects with them, but the leachies are the long-term project and my most exciting to plan for!

Fingers crossed for fertile eggs from these two 🤞

These guys are NLS but they both have some nice pinks/purples and the male has multiple bright yellow spots.

The female (left) is named Banana Breath, the male is Trollboy 😊

Mr. Mojito 🧉

This guy is a GTx with some varied genetic influence and he's turning out super cool! He fires up fully to this interesting yellow-y green color, and is developing some nice pastel pinks and possibly purples? 🤞🤞 He's 90g at a bit over a year old, and his intended mate is Chroma, a Pinky x GTA/Koghis female I've got growing up as well.

I def don't share leopard gecko content enough, so here is Archon!

This guy is an Osiris line (his 180g grandfather) super giant white and yellow, tremper albino, het eclipse.

I have two super giant ladies waiting for this guy to do some more growing. He could probably be paired at this point but I want him to reach his maximum natural size, so I'm holding off while he grows some more.

True super giants are hard to come by these days, partially because the gene is still not quite fully nailed down. Some say it is absolutely a simple recessive, some believe it is an incomplete dominant gene, some think it's a line bred trait. Because of this, you will sometimes see slightly larger than average or obese geckos labeled as super giant.

One telltale sign of a super giant (besides tracking lineage and buying from reputable folks who have worked with the gene long-term) is that they get very long and lanky before reaching their full size and bulking up. If a gecko has to be obese to reach high gram weights, it is likely not a super giant! SG babies also grow very fast. I have a female that I got at 3 months old and she was already 30+ grams and nearly the length of an adult normal leo!

Benefits of keeping super giants over normal leopard geckos:

-they are "naturally tame" and tend to tolerate handling and human interaction better than your average leo

-they look cool and everyone loves a big gecko!

-they tend to retain their value better than typical morphs due to the limited number of people working with verifiable SGs, especially ones from certain proven lines

That's my little info dump on super giants, hopefully you found it interesting and informative! I am hoping to have some babies from this guy next season, so keep an eye out for updates!
