Gizmo is starting formal training this week!

You always want to take things slow and have realistic expectations when implementing rules for new dogs in the home. The most important initial step is building a solid and healthy relationship.

Things are really truly “normal” for Gizmo at the house. He’s a very resilient little dog and has adjusted well to living with three other dogs, a new human, and a new diet.

He has learned very basic things like sit and a little bit of stay. Now we’re getting in to more formal training as he has had a history of running off in his former life. I’d like him to be able to run off leash with the other dogs ❤️

Honey’s mom has struggled with a great fear of Honey’s reactive behavior. Honey wears a muzzle in public to help give her mom peace of mind and they do not do any big public work. Fear and anxiety related to your dog’s behavior is a very real thing. We decided to meet out in public today to help give Honey’s mom the confidence to start taking her out and working with her. We even pulled the muzzle off after a few minutes! It was overall a good experience and hopefully the two continue to grow as a team.
