A hands free way to hold a hand held hair dryer. I purchased this dryer from Sally’s Beauty Supply. It was the only one they had that had the exhaust on the side not back.

Blade and tool deep cleaning! I recently purchased an Ultrasonic cleaner for my blades and attachment combs. I am truly amazed at how clean they came out. I will be honest, this is very time consuming to do after every groom but every now and then your equipment needs a very deep cleaning. You can put your brushes, combs, clipper blades, clipper comb attachments (and jewelry 😝). It is vital, though, to throughly dry immediately after to keep the metal from rusting. The long awaited video on Clipper cleaning/maintenance! Things to have handy for Cleaning. An old towel An old Toothbrush Paper towels Blade Cleaner (I am using Whitman Sharpening Clip and Dip/ ReDip, but any Blade Wash or Blade Cleaner will work) Lubricating Oil (not Grease) I’m using Oster lubricating Oil Flat Head Screw Driver Clippers (Oster Volts) For a chemical free cooling of the blades during grooming I use a Marble tile purchased from Lowes, Home Depot or any hardware store.

New brushes!!!!!! I purchased these from Affordable Grooming Shears. They are light weight and brush through the coat so easily! I have only had the chance to use them today, so far I love them! I demonstrate a lamb trim style body and legs on my pretend poodle (Bichon) Frank! I apologize for the abrupt ending…I think I was running out of time and his mom was on her way… In the video I am using my Oster Volts *Oster 4f one the body *Andis 3/4 HT to set the length on the legs *I finish up the legs with a 1/2 clip Comb to blend. #simplisticpoodlegrooming #poodle

I use grooming sprays for in between grooming, reduce static, help with scissoring and help brush out any matting or tangles. The ones I like are: Crown Royal number 3 (for poodle coats) it is a lighter spray that doesn’t weight the coat down. This works well for cleaner coats and is best as a scissoring spray as it reduces static. Natures Specialities Quicker Slicker. This works well for thicker coats, under coats and matting. Use it before or after the bath. It reduces frizz that may be caused by de tangling and adds moisture to the coat. Artero Mix it. A newer product for me. I am liking it pre bath for brushing and detangling. You can purchase these from most online pet suppliers. A lamb trim has a shorter body blended into longer legs. The lenght of the body and legs depends you your preference and how much maintainance you are willing to do. The longer the hair the more you brush ☺️. Here I am using a 5f blade on the body, Setting the legs with and Oster 1 1/2 Comb attachment over a 30 blade, then dropping down to 7/8 comb attachment, to a 5/8 comb attachment, to a 3/4 comb attachment then back to the 5f to finish blending the body into the legs. Followed up with some minor scissoring to polish off the legs. #simplisticpoodlegrooming #poodle #poodles #osterpro#

Do you pre clip before you give a bath? For me it all depends on how short I want to go. If I am clipping with a 7f or 5f and their coat is longer than an inch I will pre clip but if I clip in anything longer then I will generally bathe first. Clipping a dirty coat will dull your clipper blades faster so I do try to avoid it if I can. In this video I am pre clipping before her bath. I discuss the importance of pulling the skin taught and some of the areas to use caution around. I am using my Oster Volts and an Oster 5f blade. #simplisticpoodlegrooming #poodles #poodle #osterpro

Miami/Summer/ Bikini trim!

I love my clip combs/attachments!!! They give you the versatility to leave a longer, fuller trim. This video shows you the longer lengths of the Oster clip comb/attachments. These attachments will not go through a tangled coat. The coat needs to be clean and completely brushed out when you use them. Nadia is in a tight Modified Continental Clip. While she may be little over grown but she has a well maintained coat and my clip combs power through. Brushing is a very important part of maintenance. It helps remove the dead coat and prevents matting. Line brushing helps you to see each area of the dog then follow up with a comb to ensure all the tangles are gone. Depending on the length of your dogs coat depends on how often they need brushed. Shorter coated dogs can go longer between brushing where the longer coats may need daily brushing. I understand most people don’t have a grooming tub like I show in most of the videos. Today I show you how to do it in your bath tub at home. I use minimal shampoo to get our featured Benjen clean then show you the best way to rinse them.
