Halloween is fast approaching. Please be mindful on how you decorate outside. The fake webbing is horribly dangerous for wildlife. Fake spiderweb decorations kill birds. It's strong enough to snare an owl and takes a terrible toll every October on small birds.
They get tangled up in it and cannot get out, therefore leading to a slow, agonizing death. In warmer climates, flowers may still be blooming, and bees are still out, the fake webbing can be deadly to them too, as well as butterflies and still migrating hummingbirds.

Happy World Turtle Day! Below is repost from @waterfowlrescue ( Carolina Waterfowl Rescue) they are local heroes of many turtles struck by cars or otherwise in trouble. Consider donating today! “@waterfowlrescue True or False: Testudines (tortoises and turtles) can feel sensations on their shell. Maybe you’ll change your answer after watching this video! The correct answer is true! They can feel both soothing and painful sensations through their shell. A scratch seems to feel good ☺️. Though the nerve endings in their shells are not as sensitive as ours and are primarily thought to be pressure sensors for alerting a tortoise or turtle when it’s time to retreat in for protection, the presence of nociceptors (pain receptor nerves) in their shells reminds us that intense pressure does cause them pain, just like for us. This is why it’s important to stop if you see a turtle run over on the road. If the turtle is still alive with a smashed shell, it is in pain. Passerby may think the turtle is already deceased or not really feeling anything through its crushed shell, but that’s not the case. If you can, please bring a run-over turtle to us or another wildlife rehabilitator in your area, so that we can humanely euthanize the poor animal and bring it some peace. Otherwise, they can be left to struggle for hours.”
