What's one good thing to do if your loses power for several hours? Water change! In our experience, most tanks will be fine if they are without power due an outage lasting 5-10 hours. In some cases problems can begin to occur sooner, but it depends on a lot of factors. In general if you maintain a healthy tank it will bounce right back after a brief power interruption. Today was a great opportunity to clean fish tanks!

Have a look at this fairly new reef build inside of a Red Sea Re**er MAX S 1000 that we setup for a client. Today, the first few coral inhabitants were introduced to the rocky substrate. Over time, the reef will continuously grow by absorbing important nutrients and elements from the aquarium water. Then, a few more interesting fish that will grow larger can be introduced into the population!

This weekend we are celebrating 3 years of business in Charlotte! July 14 marks the third anniversary of our launch with a soft opening in the summer of 2021. Since then, business has grown more than we could have imagined and we are thrilled to see new faces as often as returning customers! Sunken ships, anchors, and treasure chests...although we recommend natural rock for most saltwater reef tanks, these fish-only setups featured artificial resin ornaments that made it easy to see and catch the fish!

Our tank setups (without the lights on) at this past weekend's Aquatic Expo! We brought along 200 gallons of pre-mixed saltwater in order to run all of these tanks for fish, inverts, and live coral. What was the coolest thing you saw at the event?

We will be returning to this year’s Aquatic Expo taking place at the Park Expo Conference Center in Charlotte on June 1st & June 2nd!
