It's getting chilly! 🥶Cold weather can affect your pet's joints, skin, activity, and routines. Here are a few tips to prepare your pet for wintertime:
- Provide a warm and cozy space off of the floor and away from drafts
- Sweaters or jackets are great for short-haired, small or senior pets
- Limit your pet's time outside in the extreme cold
- Some pets' nutrition needs might change during the winter. Talk to your vet if you think this might be the case.

Welcome Dr. Michaela Henry!
We are so excited for you to meet Dr. Henry at our South Charlotte office!
She is originally from California where she completed her undergrad degree at UC Davis, before hopping over to the land of kangaroos where she completed veterinary school at the University of Sydney, Australia. She now finds herself on the east coast and we're happy she landed in our South Charlotte community!

Dr. Henry isn't afraid of a good dermatology puzzle and thrives in behavior cases! When she isn't at the clinic building relationships with clients and patients, you can bet she's out for a run or snuggling up with her pups Cashew & Adora, catching the latest movie.

Happy vet tech&vet assistant week!!!

During the third week of October the veterinary community takes a moment to recognize our veterinary technicians and assistants.
You witness their skills and compassion in the exam rooms, but what happens behind the scenes is equally, if not more incredible. Our technicians and assistants know what everyone needs at all times. They know that when Spot comes in for his annual he prefers a peanut butter snack, his head to be pat and sweet nothings to be whispered in his ear while his blood sample is drawn from his back leg. They also know that the doctor is going to want to recheck that ear infection he had a few weeks ago so they’re already collecting, setting up and analyzing a sample under the microscope. They know what their patient’s blood pressure range should be under anesthesia depending on which drugs have been administered and they know what the doctor is going to ask for if it becomes too high/low. They know when their coworker needs an extra set of hands or an understanding nod. They know what treatment plan the doctor is going to recommend before the words are ever uttered. They know how nervous you are to drop your pet off for surgery and how much they mean to you so they treat them as if they’re their own. They’re calling the lab because they know you’re anxious for the results and they are too. They know which settings to adjust on the x-ray machine because the image is too dark. They know how to calculate the dose of sedatives for a chill 8 year old Great Dane as well as a 6 month old chihuahua that’s high on life. They know when to take their time and when time is of the essence. They know all of these things and so SO so much more, but one thing we want to make sure they don’t forget is how incredible we think they are.

September celebrations!

The school year is back in full swing, pumpkin flavored everything is re-appearing on menu boards and we're keeping our fingers crossed for cooler temps around the corner! While we patiently (or impatiently) await sweater weather...September will keep us busy celebrating this wildly talented crew!

July celebrations!

Ahh the month of pool/lake/beach parties, cookouts, parades and the like. Welcome to July! We’re grabbing our floaties and are headed to the water to celebrate our Whole Pet July crew! Just kidding, we’re not headed to the water currently, BUT we are celebrating these cool crew members that bring a little pizazz and a huge amount of passion and knowledge to our team!

Are your pets ready for the 4th?

It's time to prepare for the 4th!
Make sure your pets are 4th of July ready by:
- Refilling their calming treats/medications ASAP!! Don't wait until the last minute to make a refill request.
- Make sure pets are microchipped in case they get spooked and wander off.
- Make sure microchip information is up to date. Make sure your address and contact info are current!
- Plan to keep your pets indoors for the festivities. Not only can the festivities be overwhelming to our pets, but it's also not worth the risk of heat exhaustion.

Protect your pet's zen and make sure they're prepared!
