Deaf-Finn-itively Boston Strong: A Deaf Dog's Journey! 🐾
There are nights when this boy wants to sleep on a blanket right next to the chair I'm sitting in. Other nights, he loves to come up and sit with me and fall asleep. We are finding out he has certain challenges related to his deafness. One of them for sure is connection or the lack thereof. But over time we are breaking through that...and slowly but surely, he's beginning to trust us and let us in his sweet little world. It's a beautiful thing. 🥹💙🐶

I apologize for the radio silence on our page lately. Let me tell you, life with our adorable deaf Boston Terrier, Finn, has been a whirlwind of craziness! 😅❤️

📔🐾 Potty Training Adventures: Embracing the Messy Moments and Celebrating Progress! 🌟
Hey everyone!
Just wanted to drop in and give you a quick update on our potty training journey with our adorable deaf puppy, Finn. Let me tell you, it's been quite the rollercoaster ride! 🐾❤️
Okay, so here's the thing—I had a little mishap the today. Picture this: I was scrolling through Facebook, completely engrossed in it, when Finn gave me all the signs that he needed to go potty. And guess what? I totally missed it! Lesson learned, folks! No more distractions when our furry friend needs our attention, especially right after he's eaten. Lesson learned the hard way, haha! 😅📱
We've come up with a nifty approach that's been working surprisingly well for us. I call it the "Transitions" method. Fancy name, right? Well, it's all about creating a routine and sticking to it. 🚪🐾
So, here's the deal: Every time there's a transition in Finn's day, we whisk him outside for a potty break. Whether it's after meals, before and after his time in the pen, or whenever something changes, we make sure he gets his business done. Consistency and repetition are our secret weapons here. It's all about establishing a familiar routine for our little buddy. 🌟🌱
Here's the fun part: Whenever it's potty time, Finn and I head out the front door together, him on his trusty leash. Once he does his thing like a champ, we celebrate with some serious nonverbal praise—I give him gentle pets and snuggles with my face against his and immediately head back in so he knows he accomplished the desired activity. And you know what? It's been working like a charm! When we first started, I would even brush my hand against a bush to give him a little encouragement since he can't hear my verbal cues. Gotta get creative, right? 🐶✨
Here’s the most exciting update—Finn has amazed us with two nights in a row of uninterrupted sleep! That's right, his bladder is strong, and we couldn't be prouder. It's such a relief to see him sleeping peacefully and dreaming his little puppy dreams. 💤
Through this potty training adventure, I'm realizing that it's not just about teaching Finn the ropes—it's about building a bond based on trust, understanding, and unconditional love. It requires a bit of self-discipline on my part, reminding myself to be present and attentive to Finn's needs. Together, we're learning and growing, and let me tell you, it's a journey filled with ups and downs, but it's also incredibly rewarding. 🏆🐾❤️

Dear Boston Strong family and friends,
It fills our hearts with joy to share the wonderful news of Finn's arrival in our loving home! Last night, we embarked on an unforgettable journey to pick up our sweet boy from the amazing Mayra. Even though Finn is deaf, his spirit shone bright as he greeted us with his stubby little tail wagging and showered us with precious puppy kisses. 😍🐾💕
The ride back home was a heartwarming experience, with Finn snugly nestled in the arms of his new human momma, hugging her tightly all the way. As we entered our abode, controlled chaos ensued as Finn met some of the other furry occupants of the house, including our non-deaf Boston Terrier, Otis. Their initial encounter was filled with boundless energy and wagging tails—a delightful sight to behold! 🚀🐶🐾
We're thrilled to share that Finn displayed his impeccable manners, making us proud by having no puppy accidents in the house. He promptly went outside, being a good boy and embracing his potty training like a champ. 🚽✨👍
To ensure a restful night, we kept both Finn and Otis up late, engaging them in playtime until they were ready to snooze. Placed side by side in their cozy individual sleeping den crates, they peacefully slumbered throughout the night until a little after seven o'clock, without any bathroom mishaps. It was a resounding success, indeed! 😴🌙🏆
This morning, as the sun gently kissed the horizon, Finn found comfort in the company of his human dad, yours truly. Nestled on a fuzzy blanket atop my lap, he dozed off into a world of amazing puppy dreams, occasionally punctuated by adorable snores. What a precious sight to witness—bonding and cherishing these early moments together. 🌞💤🐾
Reflecting upon our first night together, we can confidently say it was a triumph for the Watson household. Finn's resilient spirit truly embodies the essence of being Boston Strong! We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of support, love, and encouragement we've received from all of you. Your presence in this journey means the world to us. 🙏❤️🌟
