My hard fought hallelujah, I tested positive for Covid.

I have been torn down, but I’m not done living for Jesus. I had someone laughing at me on several occasions the last two days. Laughing at me because they disagree with the tools I need to survive. Telling me I’ve not had two caregivers.

Most of you know that Rachel has sacrificed her life for the last 8 1/2 years to be my caregiver. Cleaning up my vomit, sitting with me on the bathroom floor, carting me around in a wheelchair in agony until she moved to Kannapolis a year ago. Lin Vickery had been my Tuesday caregiver for the last 3 years plus. Cleaning my home, giving me clean sheets, doing my laundry, taking me to ketamine appointments or at the hospital when no one else was available. My husband has cooked for me and brought my meals to my bed for over 10 years, and my caregiver the last 3. Rachel or my husband runs my baths, bring drinks to my bedside, and the last two years I rarely leave my home. I have canceled family vacations for many years and didn’t really get to experience the outer banks until last year, the same week my sister died. I lay in bed even on vacations for most of it with no strength.

I haven’t received a new wheelchair from insurance for 6 years and this hospital is fighting to get me everything back. They have been documenting everything and got me a new wheelchair, bedside commode and walker all free from Medicare this week because they sat down and filled out the paperwork.

I’m fighting for my life and this week they stepped in to help get me support I need. Although I can have a few good hours here or there a few times a month, usually by the time I’m dressed in my living room I can only take the pictures and go back to bed.
My clients have experienced seizures and suffering. So many witnesses and yet still support me so much and want to be a part of our family. That’s a miracle, a miracle from Jesus.

I haven’t turned the tv on even once this whole visit because the Lord has been here with me in the silence and I’d rather be in His word. I’m not sure if the Lord is walking me home and had me here so Drs can actually fight for my life and support.

Living on the mountain and the valley, while devoting our lives to take care of Gods creation. This is one of the emotions we experience with our pack when they go through suffering. What a privilege it’s for Ken and I to walk our wolf pack through the circle of both life and death. We are so grateful to these Service animals and cherished dogs for trusting us. What a great reminder of our responsibility and how fragile it can be at times.

I wanted to extend that trust to our families and your beloved pets today. Thank you for trusting and believing in us.

We thank the Lord for his grace, provision, compassion and mercy in our lives and home. Amen 🙏🏻🤟🐾🫶🐺🥹✝️🏡🌎🥇🇺🇸❤️‍🩹❤️📣💯

Photographer Avinash captured the poignant moment in India when a mother monkey held her unconscious cub in her arms. He said he had never captured such strong emotions in an animal before. Even an hour after he took the photo, he remained speechless.

How can we witness such beauty and grace from Gods creation, and not believe in our creator🙌🙏🏻

God has touched my heart this week. What a blessing to get the job of loving dogs!!!!
