Surgery update!!!
My beautiful baby girl is still in the hospital. She had emergency surgery 2 days ago, after a deathly reaction to a vaccine given at the vet. It’s a miracle she’s even alive. She ate her first meal last night in the last 4 days. The surgery and hospitalization has been thousands and thousands of dollars, she’s still in the hospital and not out of the woods yet.

Although this wasn’t an expected expense and we’ve never seen this happen, we are working closely with the vet to understand all the details surrounding the exact vaccine she was given. We have a tenured leader & mentor Jody Swanlund, that is so loving and works on the ground with us to ensure the best care of these dogs. With the help of her leadership, and the support of our volunteers, we are so blessed with a team that cares!!

UPDATE: My puppy will be in the hospital for the next few days and having surgery in the morning. Pending a deathly reaction to her shots at this time. All other dogs in the home are thriving. Please pray with us as we navigate this unknown for now.

ApexGSDSpecialists is experiencing a medical emergency with one of our dogs. We are in the hospital. This does not affect any of our owners dogs. We are unavailable and will update you, when we are back in the business.

This is the heart of our home. It’s so important to us that are babies are free. No cages, no bars…free range puppies to live in a safe, clinically clean environment, where puppy snuggles, training, socialization and nutrition is as common as breathing air.
Our home is a training field for greatness, recognizing and rewarding these amazing dogs from the inside-out. We are so proud of our team of 4 mommas who work together to train and love on the pups.
Help us send Momma Genesis some love for her hard work nursing, training and loving her babies, every step of the way!

People ask all the time, if our dogs socialize well with older dogs, small dogs, etc…and the answer is almost always yes. That is the beauty of neurological stimulation at its best. Combined with hand picking two temperament assessed dogs to breed, health testing those dogs, looking back 7 years at their genetics and what their line has produced. Then praying over their offspring, asking God to bless these dogs and their future families. The rest is done naturally. We don’t force breed, we allow it to happen, if our dogs are healthy and vet cleared.

Our unbelievable Christmas story.

Since leaving the military, I knew I’d eventually get a German Shepherd. I saw a few in the service and knew this was the breed for our family. For the last few years we were researching several long-coat German Shepherd breeders across the southeast. Karissa eventually found Monique Fuentes-Gillming who owns Apex GSD Specialists, a long-coat German Shepherd breeder & trainer in our area. The temperament of her dogs alone is worth going with her but the care she also puts into her dogs is unmatched. Needless to say we knew that when ready, we’d go with Monique Fuentes-Gillming

On Christmas Eve, Karissa woke up to a text from Monique telling her to call her. Karissa told me that Monique wanted us to come by so she can let our boys play with her puppies. But that’s not all Monique told Karissa, which I’d later find out. As the boys were playing with the pups, Monique shared that the Lord has put our family on her heart for the last few weeks and she woke up today wanting to GIFT us one of her two puppies left. A quality German shepherd that sells for top dollar, Monique is gifting to us. I dont know how to write a post about such a gift. I struggle with accepting gifts to begin with but Monique won’t have any of that 😂. She insists that this is what the Lord wanted her to do and she considers it a blessing to do it.

I don’t know how I can pay this forward, but it will be on our hearts to follow in Monique’s example in praying of how we can bless others like she has blessed us.

Besides the birth of our Savior, this is the greatest Christmas gift we’ve ever received.

Today we brought our first Korin baby to the vet of the owners choice and she wrote an A+ on the report! Wow God!! What a great foundation to stand on.
