From the Shelter to the Rescue, a series. ➡️
This week, we started our transfer partnership with to get cats & kittens out of shelters into our rescue. Here’s why it matters:
• gives the shelter a positive outcome with each transfer, freeing up their time, resources and care provided to all animals in their program as these transfers become ours to care and provide for
• frees up kennel space to provide resources to the community they serve bringing in animals on a daily basis
• reduces some of the mental load these dedicated workers are feeling day-to-day trying to keep up with demand and do their best by letting us carry the load with them
• gives animals comfort, love and socialization in a foster home, making them happier and improving their chances for adoption — which otherwise might have been overlooked as a shelter animal
• helps us all achieve a common goal — care for animals
Featured here are just some of the babies we pulled this week: Lisa, Bart, Patches & The Lion King (Simba, Nala and Zazu.)
Follow their journeys, consider their adoptions, support the work happening in this city.
Big (huge!) thanks to all the officers & volunteer community at CMPD for putting in the work to get them this far, and for our fosters for stepping in and taking the baton.
