**EDIT: ADOPTED!!** (near) BURLINGTON, VT: Jack and Milo were both rescued as young pups by their former owner. And they all lived happily together for the boys’ entire lives. Recently, their elderly owner felt she was no longer able to care for them properly. It was a tough parting after so many years together, but their former owner promised that whoever is able to take them in will get nothing but unconditional love in return from these two boys. Jack and Milo are a package deal— they must go to a home together as it would be devastating to break them up now. Help us find someone with a very, very big heart for both Jack and Milo! PLEASE SHARE!
Potter's Angels Rescue wrote, "Jack is a 13 year old flat coat retriever and Milo is an 11 year old Jack Russell Terrier. They were surrendered locally by their elderly owner. And they are best friends forever.
Jack is the best dog you'll ever find. He's called 'Gentle Jack.' And they both love people. Milo will jump on you, so that you will talk to him first rather than Jack. And Jack just sits back and waits his turn. They both love carrots and cheese and crackers. Milo is a typical Jack Russell Terrier. He is extremely energetic, has a personality all his own, will smile for you, and makes different sounds so that you'll swear he's talking to you. He takes an afternoon nap each day around 2PM.
They both get along fine with the foster's other dogs. They haven’t been cat tested. And we think kids 8 years old and up would be OK.
Jack is house trained. Milo did some initial marking the first day in his foster home, but no marking the second day. No fence is required but Milo knows how to open doors, so an adopter needs to be aware of that.
They are both up to date on their shot, they both have heart worm preventative, and flea and tick applications. Jack was hit by a car and has a pin in his ankle on his right leg. Milo was born blind in his right eye (which ended up causing him to be sharper as far as hearing!). Otherwise they are both in great health, although a bit overweight, and very active for dogs their age.
They are located in St. Albans, VT. If adopters are willing to travel to VT, they can be adopted anywhere."
