Heyyyy everyone!

I figured it was time for a proper introduction. I’m Devon, the proud owner and operator of MuddyDOG Fitness. Born and raised in Ohio, I made the move to Charlotte in June 2018, and it’s been an adventure ever since! I share my life with two amazing pups—Gotti, my 2-year-old Rottweiler, and Bentley, my 11-year-old miniature pinscher. When I’m not running dogs, you’ll probably find me working on my computer, diving into a good puzzle with a glass of wine in hand, or curled up on the couch with my pups.

Why did I start this business?

There are so many reasons I could share about how and why MuddyDOG Fitness came to be, but here’s the short version: When I moved to Charlotte, my lifestyle changed drastically. I found myself working longer hours, and when I finally had time to go for a run with my dogs, I quickly realized the summer heat in Charlotte was no joke! It was often too hot for a safe run, and on top of that, loose dogs in the neighborhood made every walk or run a stressful experience for my older dog, Bentley. He became anxious, constantly on alert, and honestly, so did I.

I knew it wasn’t fair for my pups to miss out on their exercise, so I started looking for alternative ways to keep them active in a safe and efficient manner. Then, at the end of 2019, I stumbled upon a video on TikTok of a mobile dog gym, and something just clicked. At the time, I was working at a human fitness gym and walking dogs on the side, trying to explore the city and meet some adorable new furiends. Seeing that mobile dog gym sparked an idea in me—I realized not only did my dogs need this, but Charlotte needed it too. And I was going to be the one to bring it to life.

So here we are, a few years later, making it happen every day. I’m beyond grateful for the support of our amazing clients and the community that’s embraced MuddyDOG Fitness. This journey has been incredible, and I’m excited to continue helping more dogs stay happy, healthy, and active. Thanks for being part of our journey! 🫶🏾🐾

𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀!! Bentley, our 8-year-old Miniature Pinscher, is not one to like anything other than a warm blanket and pillow but he LOVES getting his "walk-on" on the treadmill! He’ll jump straight on it and stand there until someone puts him in the harness. Before moving to Charlotte, 2 years ago Bentley and I would run at the park almost every day in Ohio. Once we moved to Charlotte we realized pretty quickly that running every day would not be possible due to the hot sun and humidity. Bentley gets hot very quickly and the heat is unsafe to run him in a way he’s used to. Even when it is was a nice day out for a walk, Bentley is super anxious because he is constantly looking out for loose dogs. In our old neighborhood, we would encounter loose dogs that would run up on us almost every walk. Crazy right?! (Thank God for my dog daycare experience, so no one ever got hurt!) Even though Bentley does not require a lot of exercise it is beneficial for him to release pent-up energy and get the exercise he craves in a short amount of time, safely. As the super dog mom, I am, I found a solution to our issue but the service was not in our city yet... so I decided to bring an indoor dog gym to Charlotte, NC for all dogs especially those like my little nugget, Bentley!
