The American Animal Hospital Association is the only organization that accredits small animal hospitals throughout the U.S. AAHA-accredited hospitals voluntarily choose to be evaluated on 900 standards. Veterinary hospitals accredited by AAHA must demonstrate an exceptional level of medical care and client service and they are re-evaluated every three years to make sure they are keeping up with in

dustry updates. Veterinary practices choose to become AAHA-accredited for a myriad of reasons, including the desire to improve practice operations and team building, update their skills, enhance their credibility with clients and strive for continuous improvement. Approximately 3,200 veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada have made a commitment to meeting the highest standards of veterinary care. Choosing an AAHA-accredited hospital assures pet owners that the hospital they select has the staff, equipment, medical procedures and facilities that AAHA believes are vital for delivering high-quality pet care. Find out why AAHA standards are important to your pet.

During Women's History Month, we're remembering the story of Dr. Maria van Maltzan - definitely one of the most unique in veterinary history.

Shortly after the N***s seized power in Germany in 1933, Dr. von Maltzan became an active member of the German resistance, helping hundreds of Jews avoid capture and escape the country. She said she learned the skills she used to deceive German intelligence officers while secretly studying to become a veterinarian against the wishes of her mother.

July Update- Hours Expanding
Hi Everyone!
We hope you are all hanging in there and are staying safe and healthy. As the COVID-19 virus keeps spreading in the area, we will be continuing to have folks drop their pets off and wait in the lot while treatments are being done. At the end of July, we will re-evaluate the situation. We want to bring folks inside to be with their pets as soon as feasible, but we feel that protecting the health of our staff and clients is the most important thing right now. Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding as we adapt to the challenges brought on by the pandemic. We also want to announce that we will be expanding hours after the Fourth of July weekend. Starting July 6th we will be open 8am-7pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, 8am-5pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 8am -Noon on Saturdays. Thanks again to everyone for the kindness you have shown the staff during this difficult time, and thank you for honoring us with the privilege of caring for your friends!

Sincerely,
The Town & Country Animal Hospital Team

This is Zeus, he is a very sweet boy. Zeus is up for adoption and is currently on the waiting list to go to CAHS but we are trying to find him a home before he heads over there. He is a ladies man and prefers women but he does warm up to some men. He still needs to be neutered, we will neuter him before he leaves if he is adopted through us. He is all up to date on his vaccinations and his heartworm test. He has never been around cats. Message us or call the clinic at 517-543-2330 to set up a time to meet this sweet boy.

07/02/2020

Due to the holiday we will be closed this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We will be back open at 8 am on Monday. We hope everyone has a great 4th of July!

04/23/2020

Hi Everybody!
We hope you are all well and not going too stir crazy. We wanted to let folks know that we are still limiting the types of appointments that we are able to see. As of now we are still only seeing urgent/emergency cases, but there is an exception if your pet is due for a rabies or a leptospirosis vaccine, as well as for puppies that are in the midst of their puppy vaccine series. We are able to do these particular vaccinations if your pet is due for one or both of them. Again, this exception is only for rabies, leptospirosis, and puppy vaccines, all other vaccines that are currently due or coming due in the next couple weeks will need to be postponed until the stay at home order is rescinded or changed. When you get to the hospital, we are asking folks to stay in their cars and give us a call at 517-543-2330 so that we may take your pet in and limit contact as much as possible. We have reduced our hours during the lockdown, closing earlier in the afternoon on most days and temporarily postponing our usual Monday and Wednesday evening hours, as well as Saturdays, until this crisis passes. We want to thank our clients for their patience and understanding during these difficult times. We also like to give an extra big thank you to our wonderful, hardworking, dedicated staff for their tremendous effort to meet the demands of this unprecedented situation. We have never been more thankful for, or appreciative of, this fantastic group of caregivers who show us every day why we feel so lucky to be associated with them! Thank you! Stay well everyone!

04/02/2020

We are still restricting appointments to urgent/emergencies only at this time and are continuing to have clients stay in the lot while we bring pets inside for treatment. Thank you all so much for your patience and cooperation as we deal with this unprecedented situation. This protocol will remain at least through April, and may continue afterwards depending on the status of the spread of the covid-19 virus. While we are continuing to treat your pets, please be assured that we are taking every precaution to protect the health of our clients and staff members. Our hours are still somewhat limited, and we will not be open this Saturday, April 4th. Please take good care of yourselves and remember to follow the physical distance and hygiene guidelines from the CDC. We will get through this together!
