Today, a stray cat in the southeastern part of Union County tested positive for rabies. It was killed after biting a man along the 6100 block of White Store Pageland Road. Residents who live in the area should monitor their pets and report any concerning behavior or symptoms to your veterinarian or Union County Animal Services.
Public Health and Animal Services offer these reminders to keep you and your pets safe:
🚫Do not leave food outside for animals to have access to.
🐕Make sure your pets are up to date on vaccinations.
🦊Avoid direct contact with wild or stray animals.
