The adventure continues! 🐈‍⬛️😻

We have what I believe is momma cat and two babies! Have traps set for another adult and SURPRISE a fourth kitten!

These babies are all absolutely gorgeous! Kittens are all long haired and the adults are beautiful too! Truly believe they were dumped as they are nervous but not feral cats at all. Momma laid down and went to sleep 4 feet away from me!

I am headed home to set up a place for these babies then back out to check the traps again! Fingers crossed we will get 6 of this little family safe and warm tonight!

It has been a long weekend for us personally.

We said goodbye to my husband's cousin yesterday and its been fairly busy trying to make sure we are helping any way we can. During this we noticed a nail in my husband's tire- not an abnormal accurance honestly. But still a nuisance in a time where we are already stretched fairly thin. I left to take our son to his class today and my husband ended up at the tire shop to get it fixed.

Turns out he ended up there for a reason as he found these small kittens hiding in some tires. With temperatures quickly dropping today we arent sure if they would of made it through the night. Sometimes the inconveniences we face during storms are put there for a reason. Today I believe that was so we could save these precious little lives.

He has already caught one (he has learned a lot about trapping over the past 10 years with me 🤣) with two more to go! We will also be trapping their feral momma and getting her vetted as well.

I am so incredibly thankful to him for all he does even when he "hates" cats. He is always right there and this isnt his first rescue all on his own either! I think he is being converted 😅🥰

I will update you guys throughout the day on them and I will be headed to give him a hand trapping soon!

Sue & Jasper are shockingly still waiting for a home! We believe Sue is actually Jaspers mom as they were part of a dozen cats that were left abandoned. All they want is love! All of the babies had a wonderful time at Capital Subaru of Greenville and got in some fresh air and some love! Mikey was even trying to love everyone THROUGH the kennel! 🤣

💔 Update on Abigail with the hurt lip 💔

Unfortunately during surgery we quickly realized sweet Abigail had more injuries than we could see. Her legs started to swell and we arent sure why. She quickly declined and was unable to fight any longer. We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Martha Worthington and all she did to try to save her. I know each one has a place in her heart and we both wished for a better outcome.

On the opposite side of my day we had Hocus and Pocus go to their forever home TOGETHER 🥰

The highs and lows of rescue are so hard but the highs really do keep us going each day. So for today I will grieve the life we lost and also be super excited for the two lives we got to save.

✨️ Forever Home Fridays ✨️

This is a special update as its not just one LL baby but THREE adoptions over the course of two years! It all started with a small black kitten named Mario. Him and his brother Luigi had given me quite a heart attack when they escaped near a busy road due to a kennel given to us that wasn't secured properly. When I opened the door they flew out but I was able to grab Luigi right away and put him into another carrier in my car. During this Mario was in a panic and was running around under another car. After probably 10 minutes (that felt like hours) I was able to grab him and safety get him into the carrier with his brother. Then along came Lillian. Just talking to her I knew she'd be an amazing cat mom! She had cat trees, window seats even a TV just for her senior cat. She went home with Mario and he's been spoiled rotten since!

Next came Birdie. She was returned and the first day we put her at Petco I was incredibly concerned about her. She was so sad, you could tell her heart was broken and she did not trust any of us. I tried to give her treats and loves to make her more comfortable but she wasn't having it. In walks Lillian and I watched the magic unfold. Birdie immediately took a churro from her AND let her pet her. From that moment I knew she had a forever home.

Last but not least we have Oswald. He came to us as an adult with one eye and the craziest personality! I received a text from Lillian asking about his story and I rushed to Petco to meet her because I knew she would be going home with that sweet boy!

And the rest is history. Three different stories that turned into a lifetime of happiness. Lillian had this to say- "Awww! I love them so much. They're all different in their own way. Birdie is absolutely incredible. She's perfect. The sweetest most loving cat I've ever had. Charlie (Mario) still likes to be held like a baby and Ozzie, he's a wild man. 24 seven energy, but when he finally does sleep, he's a good snuggler"

They certainly hit the jackpot from living outside to basically having a kingdom 🤣 They are spoiled rotten and want for absolutely nothing. The photos speak for themselves of the "good life".

Sweet Sky is on her way home!

A little girl whose nickname is Sky, fell in love with her immediately! Her mom is surprising her with Sky tonight and we are so excited for the pictures of that precious moment! 🥰😍🥰

Also for those following little Abigail our hurt kitty, she is eating and drinking fine but her surgery is postponed until tomorrow at the moment. We are so grateful she is being looked after and cared for!

Today took a turn when a couple reached out after finding an injured kitten under their car. They had called and messaged plenty before us but the answer is always the same, we are full. Miraculously between recent adoptions (will announce on friday) and we have had an influx of foster applications we are hopeful to find the right fit for this girl. Their landlord wouldn't allow them to keep it but they also couldn't leave the poor baby out in this cold.

Thankfully one of our awesome vets, Dr.Martha over at Welcome Waggin, was able to squeeze this little fiesty girl in to be seen for a pretty intense lip injury.

Abigail, named after the lady who found her, will be going in for surgery first thing in the morning at only a few weeks old.

We will need to raise a couple hundred to cover this very unexpected vet bill. If you can please donate and/or share this post. We greatly appreciate the help so we are able to take care of her 💕
