🚨 The Top 10 Toxins List for 2024 Has Been Released! 🚨
The toxins ☠️ on the list remain the same, but their danger is as real as ever.
🍫 Chocolate and 🍇 grapes still hold the top two spots for dogs, while lilies and 🍫 chocolate remain the top offenders for cats.

🗣️ Let’s spread AWARENESS 🗣️ and work together to reduce the number of pets exposed to these or any toxins!

If your pet ingests, inhales, or absorbs any type of toxin, you MUST act quickly:
1️⃣ Identify the toxin.
2️⃣ Call the Pet Poison Helpline at 855-764-7661.
3️⃣ Perform at-home toxin expulsion measures
4️⃣ Get your pet to the vet immediately.

Don’t forget to wipes your pups paws after walks. De-icing salt is toxic to your pet.
It can cause burns on their paw pads, which can be painful and likely require vet care.
Warm soapy water will do the trick.

Today I came across an article about pet obesity, thought I would share it with you all.
Here’s a brief break down of the article and the link will be in the comments.

If you didn’t know obesity in our pets is a growing concern, more than 50% of U.S. pets are overweight or obese.This can lead to serious health risks like arthritis, diabetes and will shorten their lifespan by up to 2 years.

Start assessing your pet’s weight with the L.O.V.E. test:
🔍 L: Locate and feel your pet’s ribs.
👀 O: Observe their body from above.
📏 V: View them from the side.
🍽️ E: Evaluate their feeding habits.

Why Pets Gain Weight:
❌Overeating or extra calories from table scraps and treats.
❌Lack of exercise or underlying medical conditions.

Tips to Help Your Pet Reach a Healthy Weight:
✅ Talk to your vet about a personalized nutrition plan.
✅ Monitor treats and portion sizes.
✅ Incorporate fun activities like fetch or laser pointer games.
✅ Set goals and stick to consistent feeding and exercise routines.

I had an emergency with yellow jackets this past week and thankfully knew what to do when the pup broke out in hives. Ironically, our last two sitters were scheduled to do training for two days this week.
