This is Cracker Jack. We get to babysit him while his family had to take a trip. He got really sick a few days before they left, and he was hospitalized for a bit. And now he’s doing better, This is a favor for a friend as he needs antibiotics and formula fed throughout the day, and the type of trip was not something that could be rescheduled.

Between Cracker Jack and myself, neither of us are very good at formula feeding, hence his face 😂 whoops

But considering we’ve “babysat” a lot of animals on and off over the years we’d like to open the doors to short and long term boarding, as we do have the space to properly quarantine, and the knowledge of most exotic animals (reptiles, birds, and mammals)

The neighbors asked if the birds were ok as it’s been quiet lately… we moved the birds to the back so they can’t hear them now.

So today we’re sitting in front of their window again, we’d hate it to be “too quiet” and make them worrry lol

To be fair, it was the macaws screaming before so they might not even notice these guys

The beauty of being a small home town rescue, I can spend one on one time with everyone. Get to know them, get an idea of what environment the animal will do best in. I treat everyone as my own personal pet, to the point I get personally offended when my husband asks if I have looked for potential homes 😅 and I most definitely have mixed emotions when someone finds a home… it’s good, but I will be sad. I’m a problem, I know. Large facilities do the same I’m sure, but I like the quality time I can give out to everyone.

With that being said, we have a handful of small birds up for adoption (cockatiel, pigeons, conure, Quaker) and some rats. Send me a message, let’s set up a time for you (and family) to come meet them, and fill out an application.
