Save the fur⁉️

We understand that life happens‼️

However, when your dog is matted to the skin. It’s highly unrealistic to achieve the cute cuts you see online. A good groomer is always going to put humanity over vanity.

The first goal is to free your furry friend from the matting.

Trying to comb it out will hurt like he🏒 🏒!! We don’t want them to hate us forever.

Second goal is to see what’s left and shape from there. It’s not the cute little fluffy style you wanted but it’s our new reality. Funny thing about fur, it will keep coming back.

Our shampoo is now available on amazon!!

Try our signature shampoos and conditioners

All of our products are natural and tear free. If you’ve had your pets groomed with us. Then you’ve experienced a few of our scents. We use our signature shampoo and conditioner with every groom.

Sprinkles is a mango creamsicle and tropical scent. It’s recommended to use a conditioner with this shampoo.

Currently, we are working on a conditioner for this particular product. It should also be available on our website or amazon stores.

Letter from Our Owner:

Hello All-

I wanted to give everyone an update. Unfortunately, I have had a few life altering things happen within these past few years. I want to thank you all for sticking with me through the ups and downs and remaining pleasant through your flexibility. I’m sure a lot of you are wondering why I’ve not been as present on social media as I once was. Some of you may know that I have been dealing with a divorce and assisting in caring for a loved one with cancer. Due to these life changing events, I loss my shop in the process. Fortunately I can still groom from a temporary location, however, I’ve cut back the times while making the necessary adjustments.

Nevertheless, please be on the look out for another location in the Charlotte area. I’ve been searching all over and it hasn’t been easy but I appreciate all the love and understanding from all of you who knew and continued to lend well wishes and support to my business.

On a more positive note, I have taking a faith leap and began my studies to become a veterinarian. We also have the sprinkles shampoo and conditioner launching this spring/ summer along with several other products. Products are available now on Amazon and some local stores, which we will provide further detail on at a later date.

I have also hired on a receptionist, Jada, who works remotely. She has been a big help!! Some of you may have already spoken with her. I am also still interviewing new groomers for additional help. Wish me well as I rebuild my team.

I ask for your continued prayers and support throughout this process. This business is my passion and I am determined to champion through any obstacle. I truly appreciate the part you all play in me living my dream.

I had a new client this week. Her poodle was completely matted from head to toe. She scolded me for cutting him short. Then tried to educate me on poodles length of hair. Side bar, I own two standard poodles. Fast forward, The dog was 15 years old and aggressive. This is a blanket apology. I will not under any circumstances put vanity over safety or health. A 15 year old dog isn’t getting groomed to enter a show. Brushing and combing starts at home. Forcing a senior dog to stand for hours is cruel especially if they are unable. Could you imagine your 80 year old grandmother standing in a apple release line. 😳 Friendly reminder, I am in school to be a vet. MEET THE FOUNDER

Damon Jackson is the founder of Shear Essence Pet. He’s a Charlotte transplant, originally from Pennsylvania. His love for furry and not so furry friends runs deep, due to growing up in a household some classified as a mini zoo. Snakes, cats, dogs, birds and even an alligator! Having so many living creatures in the house required care and attention. Being the oldest of five children, this taught Damon the importance of responsibility and value of compassion. His parents often fostered many young and displaced animals and taught their children how to care for them, which included the art of grooming.

After various career successes as a store manager at major retailers and unforeseen obstacles, Damon went back to school to earn his bachelor’s degree from Strayer University. Upon graduation, Damon tried his hand as a recruiter at a well-known staffing agency. While Damon excelled in the role, he longed for something more meaningful. The passion for the work just wasn't there. He found that he’d enjoyed spending time with his furry friends at home, researching the latest trends in grooming or nutritional options, or spending an afternoon at the dog park with his own beloved schnauzer Koko.

The same excitement and passion Damon felt waking up to Koko licking his face for her morning walk, is the same passion he desired in his career. There’s nothing like a furry friend ready for a morning walk to get you out of bed every morning! This is when he realized it was time to seriously pursue his hobby and service the Charlotte area. That’s when Shear Essence Pet was birthed.

Extending compassion and patience to train, nurture and groom his own furry friends and the furry friends within his network is where he found real excitement. Damon found his calling in something that had always been a part of his life; caring for, nurturing and grooming furry friends. When Damon isn’t busy welcoming furry friends into the Shear Essence Pet family, he enjoys cooking, Disney classics and catching a breeze at the local dog parks.
