A little life update: ⁣

We’re getting ready to move!! After three years on the beautiful South Shore of MA, we’re heading to Charlotte. With all our family down south and having added our second child to the crew, we cannot wait to be closer to family and in a community that we know and love. ⁣

Quiet time/nap time = stitching time⁣
⁣
Every order is stitched during nap times and after bedtime so depending on the size, stitches can take from a couple of days to up to a week to complete! Slow and steady and with lots of love.

Ever feel like you need to freeze time immediately because you can’t believe how quickly your kids are changing and growing—AND simultaneously cannot believe how many hours there are in just one day that sometimes move at a turtles pace?!? I’ve never felt this more than in the newborn days. Days and night blended together making time feel like some foreign concept and yet I would blink and my babe had outgrown a onesie or learned how to smile. Sometimes stitching these family portraits for new parents makes me feel like I’m capturing these fleeting moments and it feels like such a privilege.

Im pretty terrible at finding the balance between personal projects and commissions. Most of the time I push myself so hard to stitch as many commissions as I can that I temporarily burn myself out and need a break from sewing period. This year I knew if I wanted to sew year round I need a better pace, a better balance. ⁣
⁣
I’m so thankful I did. This piece re-energized me, taught me new stitches and gave me so many ideas of things I want to stitch. And I just love it ❤️ Major kudos to for the pattern and stitch a long tutorials!

⁣A high school friend asked me to make this sewing for Mighty Millie’s parents after her courageous battle with cancer. ⁣

These words were the love song that surrounded her. ⁣

It’s made me wonder what love song I’m singing to my children, what words I’m using to lift them up and affirm them and love them deeply. ⁣

When we moved to MA, we gained the best neighbors—like bake your kids brownies before a massive road trip, ask Santa and his fire engine to visit your house, fix a flat tire in your driveway without you knowing it. Yep, they’ve done all that for us. Its the absolute best when I get to gift a stitch to folks I love.

I’ve been going through my 16month daughter’s baby clothes and oh, how was she ever so small? How did it go by so quickly (and so slow)?! I love being able to help celebrate welcoming a new babe with these family stitches. It feels a little like capturing a moment in time in thread.
