Animal Rescue is a dumpster fire right now.
In the last week, 30 dogs have joined our rescue. 30 animals that didn’t choose to be born into a world of hurt and neglect.
Our fosters met the call for help. They always do. They stretched themselves to make it work. They pushed themselves out of their comfort zone. They accepted the inconvenience. They stepped up.
We hope you can help too.
Every day we are inundated with pleas from shelters and volunteers. They’re desperate to save the throwaways they’ve come to love. We face impossible decisions. We sort through medical notes, temperament assessments, foster availability, and try to wrap our brains around who needs us most.
This week it was parvo puppies (just one survived), a shelter favorite pitbull marked for euthanasia because of overcrowding, extended-stay puppies who waited in a shelter kennel for over a month for rescue. It was two six month olds who were growing up without knowing the love and security of a family to call their own. We brought in a litter of orphaned puppies, just 7 weeks old. Their mom was killed before they were even completely weaned. We opened our arms to a medical case 1 year old, a late term pregnant mom who was dumped just days before giving birth to eleven puppies (one stillborn), and still made space for three heartworm positive chihuahuas.
We’ve coordinated transport, supplies, vet appointments for all our new intakes while still juggling ongoing medical needs of the dogs already in our rescue.
When facing the cruelty we see everyday, we do the one thing we know how to do. We help where we can.
If you’re moved by our efforts we hope you will support us right now.
