They are learning lots to bring home to the rest of our team so we can continue taking great care of our exotic patients!
Dr. Schuljak and his newest kitten patient, Ursula! We all fell in love with this girl ❤️
🌞🌿🐶 What a gorgeous day to be outside! Our outdoor exam room was made for this and is now available for your pup's appointments. We love being able to offer laser therapy at QCAH as an adjunctive therapy for acute and chronic inflammatory and painful conditions. We are able to treat a wide array of conditions from ear infections, urinary tract infections, hot spots, arthritis, etc. and even utilize our laser therapy in routine surgeries like spays, neuters and dentals! If you have questions about how laser therapy may help your pet, please reach out to us to discuss further!
We had an amazing time at this weekend! The parade was a great time as always, and our team and friends of QCAH showed up and showed out to celebrate! y’all!
Caption this! Just a fun post to make you smile 😃. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Fear free means we do whatever is best for your pet. In this case, it meant staying in the lobby and doing a nail trim where the patient was most comfortable. Our goal is to always maximize patient comfort and reduce stress ❤️.
We had a special guest, Kevin, in the building today! Anyone know what species he is?!
Kennel snuggles always help our patients feel more comfy ❤️. If your pet is dropped off for a day admission, we can assure you they get lots of love and attention!
Whether you are a snake fan or not, there’s no denying the beauty in this morph! 🐍
Please help us find this sweet girl (we call her Pancake!) a home!
This beautiful long haired, golden eyed, female kitty was a stray outside our hospital. We eventually gained her trust and took her in. She is estimated to be 9 months old, she’s spayed now, up to date on all her shots, and she has a clean bill of health! She is now ready for her forever home! She has been living at the hospital, and while it’s safer than the streets, it’s definitely not ideal. She is very sweet and craves the love and attention of her very own family. She loves to curl up in your lap, purr, and make lots of biscuits. Since she was a stray, she can be a little nervous of new people and fast movements- but she warmed up to us all very quickly.

Please keep your pets safe and inside during fireworks celebrations tonight and through the weekend! Independence Day is the day of the year that the most pets go missing of any year…. Don’t let your pet be one of them!
If your dog must go out during fireworks, please keep them safe and leashed with an appropriately fitted collar/harness- outside to potty and then right back in.
Stay safe and enjoy the day!
Today was a bittersweet day and we said goodbye to veterinary assistant, Hunter! We have loved having her as part of the team for the last several years and will certainly miss her fun loving energy she brings to the hospital. While we are sad to see her go, we wish her the very best of luck in the next step of her career journey!
Guess what??? We've got exciting news!
Dr. Josh Schuljak is joining Team QCAH on July 15th! We are so excited to welcome him to our hospital, and we hope you will help welcome him too!
Dr. Schuljak is originally from Indiana and earned his bachelor's degree at Indiana University. His love for veterinary medicine led him to to Florida where he attended University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine. And now Dr. Schuljak can call himself a Charlottean, as he chose Charlotte to be his new home.
Dr. Schuljak is looking forward to joining Team QCAH. His professional interests include exotic pet care, focusing on reptile husbandry and care, as well as dentistry and surgery of small animals.
Dr. Schuljak comes to Charlotte with his partner, Ben, who is also a veterinarian, and they have 2 dogs – a shepherd mix named Rhea and a Goldendoodle named Hank. They also have a reptile collection including a black and white Argentine tegu, a gargoyle gecko, a banana ball python, 2 sulcatas and a Russian tortoise.
When he has down time, Dr. Schuljak enjoys science fiction and fantasy, taking his dogs on hikes, going to the movies, and woodworking.
We are closed today- June 19th - in honor of . We will reopen tomorrow, June 20th at 8am as usual.
May we all take time today to appreciate how far we have come, but also reflect upon how very far we have to go.
Look at this handsome fella! Help spread the word about Kingsley and help him find a home. He deserves to have a family of his own! 💕
claimed her comfy space in our feline exam room. Near the snacks? ✅. Blocking the ear thermometer? ✅ Away from the nail trimmers? ✅
Snickers lives for . In fact, it’s best to both eat the snacks and stay in the comfy chair at the same time. 😆
Ghost needed some quiet time last week during his , and we were glad to oblige. 😆
Who doesn’t love ?? These little ones and their mama, Petunia, are in need of excellent homes. They’ve been safe and cared for by Stacey, and are ready to become members of YOUR family. The babies are 6 weeks old and so sweet!!! Porcini is the male tabby with a solid face, Cremini is the female tabby with the white stripe, and the is a boy named Gus. And don’t forget mama , Petunia. Please help us get the word out so we can find these cuties families!!!
If you’ve been around recently, you may have seen the adorable gray hanging out in our parking lot. She was a stray, allowing us to give her food and occasional pets, but not allowing us to catch her. Well we finally gained her trust and got her! Meet Shiitake (also known as Pancake, Jimmy Jo, and Jimmy Dean by our team!). She’s about 6 months old and is quickly adjusting to indoor, loved, fed cat life! Man she loves her some snacks! 😋Shiitake is FELV/FIV negative, up to date on vaccines, and has been spayed. 💯 We need to find her a fabulous indoor home! If you are looking to add a kitty to your family, please reach out to learn more about her!!!
Video in comments of cuteness!!!

Here’s your Monday reminder to always take the time to have a little fun at work. Smiling and laughing is good for the soul 😊❤️.
When we opened our hospital in 2019, we knew we wanted to provide a different level of medicine. We built our hospital around this concept and set goals that would keep us constantly improving and growing. This week we met another one of those goals by becoming the first Fear Free Certified Practice in Charlotte! Fear-free care is better for our patients, our clients, and our staff and we are so incredibly proud to earn this designation! @fearfreepets #fearfreevetvisits #fearfreecertified
Fear-free! Even for our piggy friends. All doc visits should start with treats! #potbelliedpig #qcah #fearfreevetvisit #potbelliedpigsofinstagram
Our fear free cat ward! If allowed, cats have access to a hiding box/perch, comfy bedding infused with pheromones, cat friendly music, and cat tv! How relaxing?! #fearfreepets
Attention Cat Owners!! Do you think you can recognize signs of pain in your cat? Cats hide everything, especially pain, but 40% of all cats have clinical signs of osteoarthritis, and 90% of cats over the age of 12 have radiographic evidence of osteoarthritis. Unfortunately, since cats are masters of disguise, we don't always notice this very painful condition. And honestly, until now, we haven't had a great treatment option available. Thankfully, that just changed! We now have a once a month FDA-Approved injection for the treatment of osteoarthritis pain in cats!! We are so stoked to have this option and are already seeing amazing results in our patients. Visit https://www.zoetispetcare.com/checklist/osteoarthritis-checklist-cat to see if your cat could have osteoarthritis and then give us a call so we can help!
Dog lovers must watch this video! See why Harper loves dogs, especially her sweet pup, Parma! We love seeing Parma and her family at QCAH and had to share this adorable video. Make sure to check our story and see how cute Parma is! #doglovers #dogsofinstagram #dogperson #qcah #qcpets

You think you are going to a Carolina Panthers football game, and then suddenly the halftime show is the #CorgiCup and there are like 20 corgis running across the field at Bankofamericastadium. SO AMAZING! #congratshumphreythecorgi
Update: Sorry about any confusion. The vaccine is given in a series of 2 injections. You will need to come on BOTH 4/2 and 4/23 to have your rabbit vaccinated. Heads up rabbit owners! Rabbit hemorrhagic disease is a deadly virus that can cause rapid death in our pets and is steadily spreading in the United States. We are organizing two vaccination clinics to help protect our rabbit patients against this significant disease. Dr. Hreiz and Diaz as well as QCAH staff will be available on April 2nd and 23rd (Saturdays) to vaccinate your pet rabbits. Please call or email us to secure your spot!
