Great in-home session with ZITI and her owners today. Ziti has already completed 3 leash heeling sessions and he has gone from a strong pulling machine to a nice, calm , well-behaved dog on leash that knows how to properly “heel.” 🙌 His owner said his walks have been going great & she rarely has to use the e collar. The one area the owners started have struggles with is Ziti’s over-arousal and over excitement when other people try to approach while on a walk with him- he would start barking, be on his hind legs at times, start pulling in those specific moments etc - all out of over arousal). So that was our main goal for today’s session…

The owners lined up (ahead of time) several friends & neighbors to approach us while on walks and have a conversation. We made SIGNIFICANT progress within minutes 🙂 & Ziti was approaching people quietly, and much calmer when going to visit. He is a vert happy dog that LOVES people (which is great) but he cannot turn into a “wildman” when people approach to visit for a little bit. We made progress so quickly that we still had a plethora of time left for our session so we started Stage 1 with remote collar recall. A solid recall is a “must have” for these owners as they want to be able to take Ziti off leash at a dog friendly beach they often visit but know that he will have a reliable off leash recall - even with distractions around. They are super excited about working on the recall with Ziti. Owners and Ziti did great!

KOBI has had 2 sessions with leash heeling and he has been doing awesome! Before training Kobi would zig-zag, pull at times and react towards cars passing by. Within just 2 sessions we have made massive progress as he is walking past cars without reacting at all and his heel position is about 80% solidified. Progress 👍

Allegiant K9s Clients: Game Challenge- Knowing Ralphie & Sawyer, my 2 personal dogs! $25 Chewy Gift Card to the winner! There are 3 possible answers for each statement : 1.) Equal/even 2.) Ralphie and 3.) Sawyer. Here are more helpful hints:

* There are 3 equals/evens total
* 5 for Ralphie
* 5 fo Sawyer

* You get ONE entry/guess and simply place in the comments.
* Have your guess/entry in by Wed 12/31 8:00pm

2.) More food motivated
3.) Higher stamina & more intense on trails/during activities
4.) More likely to engage/start play with the other one
5.) More intelligent

9.) More comfortable with being left alone
10.) Better with nail trims
11.)When backcountry camping- more likely to sit and stare outside the tent window for a good hour before settling down/laying down and going to sleep

Graduate dogs staying with me for boarding got in TWO off property run-around sessions this morning + they have gotten (& will continue to get) numerous on-property play sessions. Dogs are having a GREAT time. They may not want to go home 🤷🏼‍♂️😂😂😂😂

Great in-home training session with rescue dogs, POPPY & CRUZ, & their owners today! Poppy & Cruz are in training mainly for the leash walking as before training the leash walks were super hectic & stressful as the 2 dogs would pull, zig-zag and react heavily towards any dog they saw. Our first few sessions we have focused on walking 1 dog at a time- starting in low distraction environments and then progressing to busier locations. We also introduced place/down/stay in the owners’ home. The dogs and owners have been massively successful over the last few weeks! 🙌 Their walks have been enjoyable and CALM 🙌 Today we progressed to walking both dogs simultaneously and the owners and dogs did great. We saw a good 15+ dogs or so today and only had 1 moderate reactive moment (flare ups can happen once in a while - no biggie- we handle it & then continue on- all part of the learning process). However, all other dog passes today - complete calm and no reactivity 🙌🙌🙌

We even had time to start practicing our public down/stay practice and again- all did super well.
