Sundance and her owner had their 1st In-Home training session and it went really well! Sundance already has some pretty good obedience. Her one nemesis: recall when she sees deer. The owner wants to be able to enjoy off leash adventures with his dog but to do so in a safe manner and he wants to know that Sundance has a very RELIABLE recall… even when she sees deer.

Remote E collar training for recall is absolutely the safest, most effective and most reliable way to communicate with a dog when the dog is off leash. It is done in several stages over a few weeks. We use long-lines, marker training, high value rewards (food and praise) and slowly layer E collar communication into the process. Again- its a process that is done in several stages over a few weeks to so it correctly and have it reliable.. even around heavy distractions like deer 👍

Graduate dogs here for refresher training practicing their “place” work and impulse control this morning. *First I ran through this drill with each dog individually and they all looked pretty darn good so we then jumped right into group practice. Looking pretty good 👍

Little night hike with my own personal dogs tonight…. * Obviously off leash hiking at night ups the risk and definitely not something I would recommend to most owners. One needs to 1. Know their dogs & their training level/experience extremely well, 2. Be extremely confident and experienced with their own handling as the human and 3. Know the environment/ trails very well.
