Awesome December Pack Event! Some of us met in an open field for group off leash play and then we made the drive to the USNWC for a pack walk and ended the day with a social while our dogs practiced public down-stays.

Good training + right tools (E collar for ultimate reliability and safety) + good human handling = fun and SAFE off leash adventures!

Some updates from the last 2.5 days on the graduate dogs here for refresher training this week…

1. Trips to downtown Belmont & Stowe Park
2. Two dog pack hikes while practicing recall
3. Four dog pack hike while practicing pack recalls
4. Obedience routines
5. Doorway manners
6. auto-sits, sit-stays and downstays in various locations
7. Group “place”
8. Play

It has been a super busy 2nd half of the week! All 4 dogs are doing great and all 4 will be going havk home this weekend. This weekend I will be working with each individual dog and it’s owners for 2 hours via a private session at a location of the owners’ choice. It has been a super productive and fun 5 days!

2.5 days into their refresher Board and Train and graduate dogs are getting in some great training practice and having tons of fun in the process. It has been a busy 2.5 days. Here is what they have been up to:

1. Individual obedience routines
2. Multiple 30+ min group “place” sessions
3. Doorway manners
4. Neighborhood leash routes
5. Trips to USNWC for leash routes, auto-sits, sit-stays and down-stays
6. Trips to a local trail system to practice recall (verbally and with remote E collar)
7. Reinforcing “no” for unwanted behaviors (ie jumping, barking, etc)
8. Tons of play & socializing

Not a bad 2.5 days of training 👍 Dogs are looking good.

Great update from recent graduate, SILAS', owner:

"Dave at Allegiant K9s did miracles with our 8 month old puppy during the 17 days of board and train at his home. Silas was a lot to handle with his puppy energy, independent and disobedient behaviors, prior to his days with Dave! We received texts, videos, pictures, long messages and thorough reports, at least every other day, of the progress and training Silas and his 2 classmates were receiving. We were being trained along with the pups and it was priceless with knowing how much fun he was having and for us to understand the process for future teaching when he got home. Silas was a new dog and we were given an E collar, his “place” raised mat, leads and walking harness for his heel walks and in home training for us for 2 hours! There’s even further training in a 1 week and 2 week sessions for 2 hours each! It was wonderful to get these bonus sessions to get hands on training for us to continue what was taught and learned prior. We could not be happier with this program and Dave. Nicest guy too. Thank you, Dave, for giving us such a positive experience and a well mannered puppy. I can’t recommend him enough! Can’t wait to join in on pack walks that he offers too! Endless resources!..."

*First I ran through this drill with each dog individually and they all looked pretty darn good so we then jumped right into group practice. Looking pretty good 👍

Little night hike with my own personal dogs tonight…. * Obviously off leash hiking at night ups the risk and definitely not something I would recommend to most owners. One needs to 1. Know their dogs & their training level/experience extremely well, 2. Be extremely confident and experienced with their own handling as the human and 3. Know the environment/ trails very well.

Graduate dogs here for boarding have started off Thanksgiving Day with a pack off leash run around session. Lucky pups this morning!
