Trainer AC’s graduate dogs, Roxie & Vader, and graduate dog Cooper arrived today for a few days of boarding with me. Not a bad first day: all 3 dogs got in a hike, plenty of yard time on property and some time in my living room. Good dogs!

Lots of reactivity training currently going on & All clients & dogs are progressing with SIGNIFICANT progress! Just a few updates from a few clients with reactive dogs in training:

Delphi: Leash reactive and strong pulling DELPHI is now heeling on leash and walking past dogs CALMLY 90% of the time- owners had 1 flare up but we are only 2 sessions in 🙂 ✅

Roxie: leash pulling and zig zagging on leash …now walking calmly on leash. She was also super reactive with guests coming in the home, moving around the home, etc and reactive towards the neighbor’s kids playing in the adjacent yard - already seeing BIG progress & on the right track for sure!! We are only 3 sessions in 🙂 ✅

Ziti: strong leash pulling machine and reactive (out of excitement) walking CALMLY on leash even with distractions ✅ Just 3 sessions in 🙂

Juniper: senior dog but still full of energy and lstrong puller on leash and reactive towards dogs on walks and humans in the house. We are only 2 sessions in but she is already heeling nicely (first time owner has walked her with no pulling) and out of 5 dogs we saw today during her 2nd training session - she started to react at the first dog we saw (we held her accountable and she stopped 👍). Next 4 dogs we passed… zero issues & very little support/input needed from her owner ✅ Good girrrrrl Juniper!!!

Those are just a few updates from some of the in-home training dogs/clients. GREAT job owners!! I have some super committed owmers that are open to instruction and feedback and that are engaged and putting in the time & work 💪👍

So happy for all these dogs and their owners- we are off to some AMAZING starts for a new and improved relationship between canine and human 💪👍

3 In-Home Training sessions has been a Game Changer for Pittie ZITI & his owners! Ziti is an 8 month old pup that LOVES people, dogs and life in general but he was also a wildman on leash: pulling, zig-zagging, barking and reacting towards other dogs (out of overexcitement; not aggression). Needless to say walks were not real fun for the owners. 3 sessions later Ziti’s owner walked her pup in a CALM “Heel” through Freedom Park while passing about 15 dogs or so, scooters, cyclists, joggers, strollers, kids running & screaming with NO ISSUES at all. Ziti was a complete gentleman and a joy. Great job owner and Ziti!

Graduate dogs, SAMSON & MOOSE, arrived this morning for a few days of boarding with me. First thing we did was hit the trails for a pack hike! Not a bad way to start off their stay with me.

Proper E Collar training provides RELIABLE recall which = fun & safe off leash adventures for dogs.

Anyone ready to see this transformation??

Stay tuned for the significant progress that can be made with the right communication, the right tools, the right skills taught and the right leadership in place. Pup “Delphi” desperately needs some help in experiencing the world in a much calmer mindset. Life can be way more relaxing and way more enjoyable in a relaxed state of mind compared to being worked up & reactive all the time.

I am looking forward to helping DELPHI & her owners in having far more relaxing & enjoyable walks!

Stay tuned for transformation!

2 yr old GSD-mix, ROXIE, started her in-home training today!

Roxie is a pup that struggles with some insecurity issues (as well as high idle/ high arousal mindset issues paired with not knowing how to make better choices) and she has learned some bad habits bc of her insecurities. She has learned that if she gets a little insecure, a little anxious, nervous, unsure, etc in a sutuation… that the best defense is a good offense: reacting & barking will make things that make her nervous move away and she is right… that does work; however… that is also a very UNHEALTHY way to live for Roxie & those around her. There is a better way to live & experience life 🙂

I already did an in-home evaluation with Roxie & her owners. Today was our first session and I started with leash heeling without the owners present (for now). I wanted to focus on a few things with Roxie today:

1.) Allow me to observe her on my own

2.) Start Working on her mindset & teaching her to experience things in a CALMER mindset via a CALM leash heeling walk. While she is not really that reactive on leash in low distracting environments she can still be VERY busy on leash: quick movements back and forth, high alert, constantly sniffing (fueling high mental stimulation & arousal) and just slightly neurotic on leash… no rhyme or reason. The owners have done a great job in teaching “auto-sits” and “focus/look at me” so there absolutely are moments of focus & calm but those moments are quickly lost in a continous walk

We had a GREAT 1st session. 🙌 Within 1 session Roxie began heeling CALMLY without all the neurotic impulsive behvaior mixed in.
We are only 1 session in, but it was a great start! Building a CALM leash walk is not only the beginning of building calmer behaviors in general but also helping Roxie to build positive and experiences & building confidence as well (life is pretty cool when we relax and just enjoy it at a stroll instead of a mach3 reacitve pace 🙂 ). It also allowed me to build some rapport and trust with the dog.

* Note: Roxie is being trained to walk on the handler’s right side.
