April first is more than just April Fools' Day- it also kicks off Pet First Aid Awareness Month!

You prepare your human family members for emergencies, but don't forget your furry family as well. BROOD alum Macie recommends checking out the American Red Cross Pet Disaster Preparedness site, but below are some key items to get you started!

-Non-adhesive dressings and open-weave bandages
-Sterile water (think wound or eye wash) and cotton pads to clean cuts
-Sterile absorbant gauze
-Blunt ended scissors
-Thick towel
-A cone or Elizabethan protective collar
-Pen and paper
-Your vet's information
