Pepper - A skittish dachshund/terrier mix I cared for during Thanksgiving. It was her first time being boarded, at least in a home environment. She took a while to warm up and then became such a sweetheart. 💕 She actually did a 360 and turned into a complete velcro!

Welcome to the family, Piper! She was just adopted five months ago from a hilarious and warm couple from Wisconsin. She is a little over a year and has already had puppies. 🥺 I was the first to house after adoption and she was wonderful. 💕 So well behaved and goofy!

Cedar was here for two weeks and I enjoyed every minute. I understand why the Labrador Retriever is so popular! She reminded me quite a bit of Harper. Well behaved and athletic, but less stubborn. 😆I hope to see her again. 💕

Welcome Potato! He goes by "Tates." He is just the sweetest boy despite his past. He was a street dog in Puerto Rico until around six or seven years old. I can't even imagine the life he must have had. His owner got him from a group in DC and I'm really grateful to the young man to look past his age and scars and see a dog that desperately needed a home. ❤️ It's his first night here and he has been a little scared and stand-offish. He LOVED his hike and my heart swelled when he randomly started jumping around and play-bowing this evening. 💕

Look who got her 'do done! She looks like a teddy bear 🐻💕. I'm going to miss this girl when she moves in June. I love my military family dogs but hate it when they leave. 😕

My neighbor's dog, Jyn. She is hands down the easiest border I have ever had. She visited last weekend and all she wants is to be fed, watered, pottied and to sleep in a comfy bed. But she LOVES her hikes and belly rubs! Her hound nose loves it!

It has been a rough month. We lost our our special boy, Mr. Fox last Friday. Fox unfortunately had Parvo as a puppy. This affected him neurologically. He was able to pull through but one of the effects Parvo left him with was an ornery disposition, making him a difficult dog. His wonderful mother loved and kept him regardless. 💕 It took him a while to trust me and when he did, he was practically a velcro. I started to enjoy his snippy attitude and moodiness because I was able to see his sweet side as well. I was honored that I was one of very few people he trusted and loved. I will miss my little 'tude a lot. He and Harper were a lot alike and got on like best friends. Fox definitely has a happy face to greet him. 🌈

Today, my best friend in life passed peacefully in my arms in our backyard. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen. Please respect my grief process - no calls, texts, messages, visits, or emails. It is simply too raw and painful for me to talk about right now. Thank you.

Indiana is a special dog. She absolutely adores any and all attention from everyone. She perks up everytime she sees a human in sight and will immediately cross the street to greet them. She's a complete ham and will gently paw them into a hug. I swear her face falls if someone passes her by. How can you not? 😍 She has no sense of "stranger danger" AT ALL. I tell her parents that she would be great at visiting a senior home or children's hospital. Here she is with Mike the mailman. 💕
