I wanted to share that I am safe and was not involved in the heartbreaking tragedy in Glenmore last night. My heart goes out to everyone impacted. The woman who lost her life was a local petsitter staying at the home while the family was away, and 12 other families have also been displaced by the explosion. I know some friends were worried this morning and reached out—thank you for your concern. If there is anything we as a community can do to support those affected, please let me know. My heart truly aches for them.

What’s in a name? Someone asked me recently why I named my business something so quirky. Why did I choose Hot Potato Pony Equine Services? 🐴

So I asked them, “Did you have to look it up, or did you already know what it was?” They answered that it intrigued them so they looked it up, and it brought them to my website and FB page. THAT is why it’s Hot Potato Pony. It makes you wonder what I do, and that’s the first step in building a connection.

On a more personal note: It’s bubbly, silly, spunky, playful and unique, just like me and Spud. Sure, it is a business, but it is also a passion, and the name makes me smile. It’s also named after my pony, Hot Potato (Spud).

I LOVE what I do. I want to be everyone’s go-to farm sitter in Albemarle County. I’m so proud of how far my little horse business has come in one year. It’s amazing what you can achieve when you manifest your horse girl dreams.
