It’s easy to feed our pets table scraps or give them a quick bite of something we’re eating. However, it is SO important to remember that they have different tolerance levels than humans. Here is a list of a few toxic food items to avoid feeding your pets:

Grapes and Raisins: Toxic to dogs; can cause kidney failure. Harmful to cats too.

Macadamia Nuts: Toxic to dogs; causes vomiting and weakness. Harmful to cats as well.

Caffeine: Toxic to both; leads to restlessness, rapid breathing, and can be fatal.

Xylitol: Highly toxic to dogs; causes low blood sugar and liver failure. Harmful to cats.

Onion, Garlic, & Chives: Damages red blood cells; can cause anemia in both cats and dogs.

Chocolate: Contains theobromine, toxic to both; causes vomiting, rapid heartbeat, and seizures.

Alcohol: Toxic to both cats and dogs; causes vomiting, coordination issues and can be fatal.

Red, blistering paws are a result of hot pavement! You can test if the pavement is safe for your dog by placing the back of your hand on it for seven seconds. If it's too painful for you, it's too hot for your dog's paws. Take walks before the sun is beaming or play in the grass—your fur babies will thank you! 🐾❤️
