Faith in this Community. Hope that together we can make this happen. We all, myself included, shake our heads snd silently judge when we see “free puppies”. Get the dog fixed is what we say. I would like to talk about how getting a dog fixed is not as easy as it seems.
John has 2 large female farm dogs, given to him for help on the farm. It has been a year now. Those 10 # pups are now 45 # ‘s and growing. Need to be spayed. Easy right? I was asked to call area Vets for John to check dates, requirements, prices. After making calls to 8 area vets, I was speechless. $450 to $550 per dog for the required shots, medicines, and spay. John does not have the money and never will. Without Spay for these 2 female large breed dogs, there will be 2 litters of puppies in the fall. We have co tacked every resource we know of. We are asking if everyone can donate something we will make arrangements and transport. Please. Chatham. Help a struggling neighbor. Help be part of the solution.

Straw Available! It is COLD. Fill your dog house with STRAW. Happy Tails Rescue had a generous donation of straw bales made today from Florida resident Dettrick Drewery. We have asked the Pittsylvania Pet Center to be the point person to help get this straw out to animals. Messsge us or the Pet Center to get straw!

Hello I am the real “ Snow White”! I love the outdoors and occasionally an indoor spot in the sun! And.. I will not be having any kittens! Yep, all fixed and Vet checked and shots! Pet me and love me up if you please just wait until I am ready for your lap. I have lived with dogs and cats too! UPDATE..!! They have been adopted!!
“Tom” and “Jerry” have had an absolutely heartbreaking beginning. These 2 Little twin boys along with their Mom were living with a homeless person when Mom got killed over Labor Day weekend. Another family took the kittens in for a couple days but they could not stay in that situation. Thete were zero shelters who could take them…. And Happy Tails got an urgent request. They are safe now and are getting checked out by Dr Kay Geyer at Cherrystone Vet in Chatham, Va. They are eating wet food and using the litter box! They are just Littke fuzzy lumps of love and snuggles! Please help give these guys a chance at a real home! Msg us or text to 434-770-5346. UPDATE ! The elusive 4th kitten has been rescued! A little boy! Identical to the others. A little smaller but will be up to speed in no time! So it is 2 boys and 2 girls!
