These Poor babies were used to make money. People pay thousands for "Doodles" and think they can make an easy dollar and turn their "pets" into slaves. Making them money by breeding them. They don't have the proper Veterinarian care, they don't test, I can almost promise you these breeders don't even have the parents groomed twice a year. I know they are cute, so adorable, and have so much hype built around them. But as a groomer of over 15 years, I will tell you, they are NOT hypoallergenic, they ABSOLUTELY will shed, their personalities are NEVER the same, and you will NEVER be able to determine the genetic hair coat a puppy will get. All the puppies can be completely different since they are a MIX of two dog breeds. Most Doodles have horrible allergies, allergic to life basically. These dogs are a mom and a dad, a breeding pair, a daughter from a previous litter, that either didn't sell or they kept to make money off of by breeding her, and 2 puppies from another litter that didn't sell, along with other dogs, left, abandoned, used, and emaciated. All these Doodles had horrible skin sores under the matting, dry, flea-infested skin, ears full of filth and hair, eyes full of infection. Ticks the size of my thumbnail. One dog's tail could have possibly amputated itself if left much longer because the matting was so tight. Their coats were impacted, to the point that shaving was dangerous, the hair and skin was full of debris, grass stickers, foxtails, pine needles, and f***s. Their poor paw pads were so full of debris that it had to hurt to walk. They were solid mats, every step they took would pull the hair all across their body, as if they had a tight wetsuit on, with no ventilation or relief. Please, please please do your research before buying a high-priced doodle. If you are insistent on buying one, please make sure you buy from a breeder who provides care for the parents and doesn't use them as an income source. Better yet, go adopt, because I promise you the shelters are full of Doodles, that people can't sell or can't afford or can't train. The grooms on the 3 adults would have cost at least $300 EACH and the 2 puppies would have been at least $150, in the condition they were in. They need grooming every 4 to 6 weeks depending on how well they are cared for at home. The average cost to groom a doodle starts at $100. I couldn't stand to let these babies suffer any longer, so I spent Friday afternoon 2 to 430 and Saturday from 8 to 1, giving these babies the best (probably 1st) grooming they could get. Seven and a half hours, not including the time it took to disinfect and clean the bus and all my tools. This breaks my heart, but to see the smiles after and the relief of being able to stand, sit, or rest without pain was all worth it. They were better behaved than most of my clients, and I know it was painful even just shaving them. Not a single tooth was shown, not a single growl or grumble, almost like they knew it was all for the better. Adopt before you shop!!
