It’s Wish List Wednesday, and Floki is here to tell you about the November Adoption Special you won’t want to miss! 🐾

All month long, you can adopt a new best friend from MAC for 50% off when you bring in an item from our Wish List. It’s the perfect excuse to add a furry companion to your family and make a difference for animals in need. Every donation goes directly toward caring for the pets at MAC and helping animals across the community. ❤

Not looking to adopt but still want to help? You can drop off items in one of our brown donation bins at the main entrances anytime, or even ship goodies straight to MAC through our online Wish Lists. Meet Carnelian, MAC’s Pet of the Week this week! 🐶

At 2 years old, this sweet and snuggly pup has been with us for over six months, patiently waiting for her perfect family. As our special Pet of the Week, her adoption fee is waived, and if she finds her new home during her spotlight week, she’ll head off with a goodie bag packed full of treats and toys to kickstart her new adventure! 🐾

Carnelian is the ultimate sidekick. With her medium energy, she’s just as happy joining you on a leisurely stroll as she is cuddling up for a cozy night in. Her love language? Endless affection. She adores snuggling, soaking up head scratches, and even sharing sweet hugs. ❤

She’s a toy-loving, treat-munching superstar who already knows tricks like “sit” and “shake,” making her a delight to teach. MAC has SO many reasons to be thankful as we celebrate National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week. ❤🐾

We want to take this moment to recognize the incredible people who make our mission a reality every single day. The world of animal welfare is especially tough right now, as we continue to navigate the capacity crisis happening across the country and right here in our own community. It’s not always an easy position to be in, but we have some of the most dedicated and passionate people who show up day after day to make it all happen. They advocate tirelessly for the animals and pet owners in our community, give them all the love they deserve, and are here to make sure every single pet receives the best care and support possible.

To celebrate this amazing team, we invite you to show the MAC crew some love on our Kudoboard! It’s an online space where you can share sweet messages, photos, gifs, and more. Last week, we were honored to welcome our friends from Unicoi County Animal Shelter. Due to the devastating effects and aftermath of Hurricane Helene, they’ve faced unimaginable loss, with their shelter left nearly destroyed. The road to recovery will be long and challenging, but their resilience and dedication to their community’s pets and people are truly inspiring. ❤

During their visit, we had heartfelt conversations, shared ideas, and brainstormed solutions. We’re proud to support them however we can as they work to rebuild and restore hope in their community for the pets, and the people.

A big thank you to The Humane Society of the United States for making this visit possible! We encourage you to follow Unicoi County Animal Shelter to stay updated on their journey and show them some love as they get back on their feet. 💛

Meet Popeye, our resident old man extraordinaire, who at 14 years young has perfected the art of side-eye and skeptical glares. Sure, he might grumble a bit when you interrupt his beauty sleep, but underneath that cranky exterior? A total softie with a sweet side that’ll melt your heart (once he decides you’re worthy).

Popeye enjoys life’s simple pleasures: quiet afternoons, cozy naps, and sharing a snuggle—but only if you ask nicely!!! He’s had his fair share of adventures and is now seeking a retirement home where he can be pampered like the senior king he is. 👑

Come win over this lovable curmudgeon and let him steal your heart! We’re open for adoptions today from 10 AM - 4 PM, and Popeye is ready for his next chapter (which he promises will involve some very sassy storytelling). ❤️🐾

When you work in an animal shelter, it’s impossible not to fall for the amazing pets who come through our doors. 🧡

Take Jasmine, for instance. This beautiful girl—whose face is now lovingly carved into a pumpkin—was rescued in August by one of our animal protection officers. She was found in a brush pile by the roadside, scared, emaciated, and all alone. Since then, she’s been staying in our clinic, where she’s captured the hearts of the entire team, including Dr. Winn, one of our veterinarians. In fact, he’s the one who carved that adorable pumpkin in her honor! 🎃

And as cute as her pumpkin likeness may be, Jasmine is even more charming in person. She’s ready for her forever family and would love to join you just in time for Halloween festivities! Jasmine is a total cuddle bug who adores people and would thrive being your best furr-riend. And at just 1-year-old, she's got a whole life ahead of her that she hopes is full of cuddles and belly rubs! 🥰

We are so full it's spooky, so to find loving homes for all of the pets we currently have available for adoption, MAC is reducing adoption fees for ALL pets to just $31! This special will be taking place today, October 30th, and tomorrow October 31st. 😎 Cool Kiddo Alert x2!!! 😎

5-year-old's Marli and Hunter stopped by MAC yesterday to drop off their birthday goodies... food, treats, toys, litter and blankets for the animals in our care! These philanthropic kiddos decided to have birthday parties with a twist this year - rather than ask for presents, they asked their friends to bring donations for the animals at MAC.

We think they're pretty incredible! Please join us in thanking them for their altruistic efforts, and also wishing them both a very Happy Birthday! 🥳

Head over to the Hixson PetSmart TODAY to celebrate National Adoption Week with us and PetSmart Charities! Cuties like March and September here, will be available for adoption and are just waiting for YOU to fall in love. The best part? We’re reducing adoption fees to just $31 to get into the spooky spirit. 🎃

All adoptions are conducted on a first come, first served basis. No holds for adoption will be accepted. All animals are ready to go home with you the day of the event and have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.

Mandy is coming to you all with a very special request! 🐾

We're starting to run low on a lot of our toys and enrichment for both cats and dogs and would really appreciate your help stocking up! This is especially important as we start to head into the colder months and our pups are indoors more frequently. The pups and kitties are NOT picky and would gladly accept any of the following:

+ New or gently used chew toys of ANY kind (biggest need!)
+ New or gently used KONG brand toys (biggest need!)
+ Nylabones or Benebones
+ Bully Sticks
+ Lick mats
+ Puzzle feeders
+ Peanut Butter
+ Spray Cheese
+ Unopened dog treats
+ Kitty Toys
+ Stinky kitty food (Tuna, Sardines, Fishy Wet Food, etc.)

Items can be dropped off at the center at any time by placing items in one of our brown donation bins, which can be found on the left-hand side of our main entrances. Items can also be shipped directly to MAC if you would rather order from one of our online wish lists!

The face you make before and after being told you're the goodest girl 😍

Pond is one of the pups in our care who is currently hanging out in a Slumber Pawty! We've got our paws crossed it'll end in an adoption, but even if it doesn't that's okay too!

MAC's Slumber Pawty program allows you to essentially 'foster to adopt', ensuring the right fit for your family when thinking about adopting an adult dog.

We'll set you up with supplies, go over their background info with you, and make sure you are set up for success before leaving the shelter. Dogs that are at least 1 year old and have been available for adoption for at least 2 weeks are eligible to go on a Slumber Pawty with you!

The pawsibilities are endless! Stop by MAC today to see all the wonderful pups waiting to go home with you and pawty!
