Congrats to Chubbs, an , for completing the 2-Week Intermediate Training Program. Chubbs got here with the tendency to walk whoever was on the other end of the leash. It was his way or the highway. We worked thru his leash pulling and he’s now able to walk/heel gracefully. Chubbs came with his partner in crime, Winston the . What a blast getting to work with these adorable doodles. Great work, Chubbs!

Congrats to Winston, a , for graduating the 4-week Masters program! This good boy casts a smile on anyone that sees him. His high, fun-loving energy is unmatched. That energy was put to work and he is now able to reliably recall on command, walk on/off leash without pulling, and refrain from reacting towards other people/dogs nearby. Way to go, Winston!

Scout, an has graduated the 4-week Masters Program. Scout came with extreme aggression towards people regardless of familiarity. This is obviously a hazard for any dog owner, particularly those with young children. This sweet boy had a rough past, but was rescued by a loving family out of Cleveland, TN who decided to give him a chance by sending him to training. All in all, Scout is no longer a threat as he underwent training. He no longer barks, lunges, or bites at people after learning to channel those reactions in different ways than aggression. Furthermore, the good boy is fully trained on ecollar, he heels and recalls off leash, and is fully trusted in all settings/environments. What a please to work with such an amazing dog. Way to go Scout!

Congratulations to Kida, a Hound/Shepherd mix, for graduating the 4-week Masters program! Kida came with medium to high reactivity, relentlessly barking at people and dogs nearby. She has learned to channel out the reactivity. Furthermore, she is fully off leash, ecollar trained, recalls on command, and heels alongside her owner on and off the leash. Kudos to Kida!

Huge congrats to Muffin. This Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is as sweet as her name. Muffin graduated the 3-week Advanced Program. She came to training bc she was biting/tearing up things in the house and was not reliably responding when recalled. Overcoming both of those challenges, she has finished and returned home. Good job, Muffin!

Gnomeo, a , has graduated the 4-week Masters program. His 7’ vertical is impressive, but his progress through training showed an even greater jump. Gnomeo’s relentless energy puts the Energizer Bunny to shame, and we put it to productive use. He is trained, recalls on command, and heels along his owner’s side. What a blast getting to train he and his partner in crime, Juliet.

Sunday, a Pitbull-American Staffordshire Terrier mix, has completed the 3-week Advanced Program. Her training was focused on behavior modification, controlling aggressive tendencies towards certain dogs and men with ball caps. Upon completing the training, Sunday improved in these areas, giving her owners more trust when walking her. She is trained and reliable on recall. Way to go, Sunday!!

Rufus, a German Shepherd-Doberman Pinscher mix, has completed the 4-week Master Program. This good boy came with high reactivity levels toward other dogs, fought the leash on walks, and a tendency to not come when called. Rufus is now conditioned in numerous environments to obey all commands regardless of nearby distraction. He is trusted off leash, walks well on leash, and recalls on command. Great job, Rufus 🐶

Bravo to Brando 👏. This Labrador Retriever-Pitbull mix has completed the 4-week Masters Program. Brando came with aggressive reactivity towards other dogs. This resulted in some exhaustive leash pulling, and hyperactive leaping/lunging. He’s come a long way and is now e-collar trained, walks well by his owner, and recalls on command. 🐶

Chunk, a miniature Poodle, has graduated the 4-week Masters program. He is a service dog with all love, no fight. No more unwanted reactivity towards other people or dogs. He is fully e-collar trained. Poodles, Doodles and other types of ___oodles tend to be a challenge in regards to achieving a reliable recall due to their extremely playful nature. But Chunk here has mastered his recall, regardless of potential distraction.

Congratulations to Auggie for Takin’ Care of Business the last 4 weeks to graduate the Masters Program. This Maltese mix is service dog certified. He is no longer reactive when other dogs are nearby. He responds to all commands promptly regardless of the distractions in all environments. Great job, Auggie!

Wookie has graduated the 3-week Advanced Training Program. I have a pretty good guess as to how he got his name! Wookie came with high reactivity towards other dogs, resource guarding issues, and an exceptional ability to never come when called. That’s all changed after his training, and he is now trusted off leash (even with the neighbor’s instigating cat around). Good work, Wookie!

Biggs is a natural! This completed the 2-Week Intermediate program. Biggs now recalls in high distraction environments and heels properly along his owner’s left side. Ton of fun working with this good boy!

Great Dane is off the chain! Axel, a 6-month-old is now fully off leash and e-collar trained. After completing the 4-week masters program, this good boy is proofed in all environments. Axel conquered high level obedience and behavior modification. He arrived with high negative reactivity toward humans, but his owners now rest assured that he is socially proofed and no longer a nuisance to guests/coworkers. Kudos to Axel!

Graduated! Ansel, a German Shepherd-Husky mix, completed the 3-week Advanced training program. Barking at dogs and people is a thing of the past for this good boy. Ansel’s owners are now able to invite friends & family into their home with full trust that Ansel will sit quietly on his place cot. Ansel is trusted off leash, heels left-side of owner, and recalls on command.

Sophie, the world’s sweetest Sprenger Spaniel, has graduated the 3 week Board & Train program. She is fully off leash and e-collar trained with recall range up to 1/2 mile. Fully responsive to all commands and now heels beautifully along her owner’s side. Her fun-loving energy was put to work and she responded well by increasing her 5 second attention span into 15-25 minute focus periods. Way to go Sophie!

Dog owners: it is important to continue training with your dog after any training program. I don’t care if you send your dog to a high-level board and train, or to the Mickey Mouse 30-minute “lessons”…Follow through on your trainer’s recommendations to keep your dog fresh and trained.

This is why I hold a 2-hr exit lesson with each dog and it’s owner at the time of dog’s departure. From there, I guarantee the client that I am not going anywhere. Always a call, text, or email away to help. The dogs that I see become most successful from my courses are the ones that have stayed in touch following his/her completion of training. There are no bad questions, but there are bad answers. If you have sent your dog to me, contact me with your questions before you get: 1) bad answers 2) a de-trained dog 3) frustration 4) lost faith in your dog 5) lost faith in dog training.

Just as with any art or skill that we as humans want to master (sports players, marksmen, archers, musicians, poets, painters, etc), dogs are no different in that they need continued practice and repetition for those talents/skills to stick. You think Jack Nicklaus could have won 6 Green Jackets (golf) had he not continued practicing? No. Same can be said for other Masters of their arts.. Muhammad Ali, Jimi Hendrix, Lionel Messi, Tom Brady, Chipper Jones, Mozart, Van Gogh, William Shakespeare, etc.

I only ask my clients to take 10-15 minutes out of each day to stabilize, sharpen, and cement those skills in their dogs. It’s not much and it’s not forever. But the point is this: continued practice, even minimally done, keeps a trained dog trained.

Belle, a 6-month-old golden retriever, has completed our 2-week Board & Train program. She is now fully off leash! She continues to have her playful nature, but can turn her attention toward her owners with any of her newly learned commands. Belle has mastered the recall command regardless of distraction within the current environment. She’s been proofed to perform in all situations, and we are so pumped for her and her owners. Great job, Belle, you’re a super star (and a crowd favorite).

Dakota, a Portuguese Waterdog, has completed our 2 week board and train program. He came to us for obedience training and behavior modification. Pulling on the leash, nipping, jumping, and counter surfing were a few of the issues addressed and corrected. He is fully off leash and ecollar trained.

These dogs’ playful nature can be excessive, especially towards children, so we are happy that the owners can feel comfortable knowing their fur baby can play gently with others now. Nothing better than a trusted dog off the leash!

Congratulations to Cesar for completing his 2 week board and train course! Prior to training, Cesar was notorious for nipping, barking/lunging at other dogs, and attacking cats. He is now trained and has overcome each of these undesirable behaviors. His loving owners can now rest assured that their pet cat will no longer be harassed and nipped at 😅.

Zeta Mae, a rescue from Mckamey Animal Shelter, has come a long way in just a few days. When she first arrived, she couldn’t seem to sit still longer than 1/8 of a second (along with aggressive behavior). We are working on leash pulling, heeling, “place”, “sit”, “down”, “stay”, recalling, and bahavior modification. She has some work to do before she can move into the senior living community, but she is getting closer one day at a time. Keep up the good work Zeta Mae.
