Everyone welcome Theo! Theos owner already has a good foundation for me to grow on! My focus is elongating sit, bed, correcting leash pulling, and jumping on strangers out of excitement to greet them.
Here is a long video of a training session and how/when I give positive reinforcement though treats, verbal praise, and pets. I also think it’s equally important to highlight how I give corrections. Corrections does NOT have to mean painful, it just means aversive, I give verbal corrections and withhold treats when necessary.
Theo is already doing so great learning what’s expected of him and learning impulse control!
Staying a small business, your dogs not in a large kennel room, your dog trains in everyday real life because they are living in our home! In this video you can see how I elongate “bed”
Using successive approximation adding in distractions while simultaneously building on duration and distance.
It’s not perfect but I intentionally leave it unedited so you can see how I give correction and when!
I believe in customized dog training, I keep my business small to insure the best training with YOU and your dog! I encourage owners to be part of the training process, owners learn with their dog and get to see their transformation before their eyes!
Watching owners amazed at the progression of their dogs, and watching owners advance their skills simultaneously melts my heart! I’m so proud of this team! Kate is faithfully meeting with me regularly to learn how to properly be the leader Tank needs!
Training out in public in real life, with real distractions is key to a well balanced dog!
Tonight I worked with Kate & Tank we focused on being up close to distractions!! BEST OF ALL an obnoxious little kid whose mother didn’t enforce any boundaries! I got to show Kate how when necessary you have to be a wall to protect your dog, how to interact with the mother, and keep Tank calm and focused.
Dogs out in public does NOT mean they are for the public! As an owner it is your duty to protect your dog and if necessary advocate for their space and sometimes create the space!
We also worked with dogs in the dog park and dogs coming out of the dog park AND a cat on a leash!
Great training session! So proud of both of them and how well they are working together as a team ☺️
Bello is in training to address his severe leash pulling and hyper fixation on smelling everything around him and pulling with all his might to sniff.
We’ve been working hard on his focus and leash pulling!
Dogs come into training because their owners are struggling. There are a million ways to get from A-Z, I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement, LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive), & Successive Approximation baby steps to reach a goal.
In this video you can see things are not perfect, but what you can also see how I respond. I don’t believe in making a dog submit, I don’t use any pain or fear, my job is to build a dog’s self confidence and trust in me.
When your dog comes into my Stay & Play Training the first few days I do a lot of training in my home. With attention to bonding, establishing trust, and training the basics without distractions.
After the connection is established, trust is earned, and they know what is expected, we head out for real life training!
Your dog truly becomes family and learns so much in real life everyday situations. We had a great time at Ross Landing watching Luca last night!
Hey everyone! I’m back into training full time!! I meet every dog and owner before they come into training, this is to ensure every dog in training is matched up with other dogs they will pair well with!
Every dog in training goes out DAILY for training in real life! I use dog parks to teach impulse control and manage reactivity.
How to teach a down using positive reinforcement and success approximation!
Around a month ago, Bellos parents visited Chattanooga and caught sight of me training one of @remedy.ridge_aussiedoodles ’ puppies, Chef, at the Moxy. They were so impressed by what they saw that they immediately expressed interest in having me train their own dog!
Fast forward to two days ago, I embarked on a journey to Nashville to pick up Bello! Both Bellos mom and I have had our fair share of struggles, and we spent the entire day together, letting out all the emotions we needed to release.
I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to keep my business small and build genuine friendships with my clients.
I am currently putting in a lot of effort to prepare Bello for his upcoming adventures around the globe with his mom. I am filled with anticipation for all the exciting experiences that lie ahead for them!
I am also thrilled to have friends who I can travel with and reunite with in various parts of the world all because of dogs.

Love is why. Everyone and every animal deserves unconditional love and help when needed. @atypicalplacefortransformation Rugars home now back to training!
Hey everyone! Thank you for your patience! The past two weeks I’ve been “off” from dog training to focus my attention on our growing nonprofit, @atypicalplacefortransformation (please follow to see what I’ve been working on!) Rugars injury was not healing in the tent cities, I worked on getting him up to date on shots, to protect my personal dogs and clients dogs in training. Rugars been at our home resting, receiving wound treatment, and healing.
I’ve enjoyed helping and watching him recover, it’s time he goes home and training starts back up!

Working at a different dog training company provided me with extensive knowledge and the opportunity to form lasting friendships. I truly miss collaborating with my colleague, T, on a daily basis.
The time spent at the previous company offered me valuable insights into the way I envisioned running my own business.
Establishing connections with dog owners and guiding them through the training process became a top priority.
Opting for a smaller scale operation, kennel rooms are so loud and stressful! Staying small allows me to focus on every little detail and customize training to each dog and owner’s needs.
I believe in making training sessions enjoyable and entertaining for everyone involved - the dogs, their owners, my own family, and myself.
Injecting a sense of fun, spontaneity, and even some silliness into the sessions through movement and dance is something I truly enjoy!
During my 1 on 1s I work on specific needs of the owner. Kate made so much progress in just her 1st session! I’m so proud of how much they were able to accomplish in just a short amount of time!

After biologically fulfilling all the dogs in training we put them in their crates for rest, we set off for a fun evening of surfing with our friends! It’s truly wonderful when former dog clients turn into friends.

Several years ago, I had to bid farewell to my companion, Momma Dog. In her life she raised countless wildlife, she helped raise PupPup from the moment we got her, Momma volunteered as a therapy dog to the mental ill and mentally challenged, her death was mourned by so many in our community.
Her unwavering support and influence played a pivotal role in steering me towards a career as a dog trainer. My aspiration is to cultivate fulfilling, joyous bonds between individuals and their canine friends.
Witnessing precious Pup, our Rottweiler aging gracefully is an emotionally taxing experience. Although I strive to maintain a positive outlook and cherish every remaining moment together, the looming thought of her eventual departure weighs heavily on my heart.
Coping with this impending loss proves to be a continual struggle, evoking more tears than I care to admit. The profound absence of Momma Dog lingers within me, a void I feel deeply.
Give your babies a hug, a kiss, and tell them how much you love them. Their precious lives are too short.
Feeding dogs in a calm state is very important. A few reasons: It teaches boundaries, impulse control, dogs only take food when given permission, rewards and food come when focused and calm.
Maple and Milly are doing great with their training!

Desensitization to fireworks is such an important thing to protect your dogs. If you haven’t started this process here are a few tips to keep your pets safe tonight:
Secure Crate- if your dog’s chewing up doors or walls from stress and anxiety it needs to be in a SAFE SECURE crate.
Beethoven- classical music is so soothing for dogs, play it loud to cover up the sound of the fireworks.
ID tag- make sure your phone number is securely attached to their collar
AirTag- run to Walmart NOW and get a AirTag dog collar holder
Dog CBD- chews or oil
Move you dogs crate- move your dogs crate into the middle of the house and lowerst floor to reduce the sounds
Weird fact, I’m terrified of loud noises especially balloons and fireworks. Somehow, I managed to step outside of my own fears to be the leader the dogs need and teach each dog not to fear the sounds.
Training is so important to create a happy relationship with your dog! Airports and long road trips are so enjoyable because of the training my personal dogs have. Contact me for more information on upcoming available dates for training!
