Cold weather is here or coming! ❄️🐾 Keep your pup happy and healthy with these tips for chilly days:

1️⃣ Bundle up: Short-haired or small dogs may need a cozy coat for outdoor walks.
2️⃣ Paw care: Protect paws from ice, salt, and frostbite—consider booties or wipe paws after walks.
3️⃣ Stay active indoors: Play games, teach new tricks, or set up obstacle courses to burn energy.
4️⃣ Limit outdoor time: Watch for signs of discomfort like shivering or lifting paws.
5️⃣ Hydration matters: Even in winter, your dog needs plenty of fresh water.

Keep your pup warm and safe, and enjoy those frosty adventures together!

Navigating Canine Adolescence

Welcome to the turbulent yet rewarding phase of canine adolescence! Just like human teenagers, adolescent dogs undergo significant physical, behavioral, and hormonal changes that can sometimes leave both them and their owners feeling bewildered.

Life with a young dog can be a whirlwind of excitement and challenges. From boundless energy to seemingly forgetting everything they’ve ever known! these furry teenagers keep you owners on their toes. It's essential to provide them with plenty of mental and physical stimulation while also setting clear, consistent rules to help them mature into well-behaved adults.

Training an adolescent dog requires patience, persistence, and adaptability. While they may have mastered basic commands as puppies, adolescence often brings about distractions and lacking engagment.
Here are some tips to help you navigate training during this stage:
💜Stay consistent
💜Reward Reward Reward!!
💜Meet their physical excersise and mental enrichment needs!

Training rooted in fear or punishment can damage trust and create anxiety in your dog. Instead, focus on positive reinforcement rewarding good behavior with treats, toys, or praise. This builds confidence, strengthens your bond, and encourages your dog to want to learn. Remember, training should be about partnership, not power. 💜 Let love and patience lead the way! Fear has no place in training!

The holidays are a magical time, but they can also be busy and overwhelming for us and our dogs! 🐾 Remember, you’re doing an amazing job, and your pup appreciates your love and effort more than anything. Take a deep breath, enjoy the season!

5 positive reminders for your holidays:
1️⃣ Patience is a gift: Progress may slow during the holidays, and that’s okay.
2️⃣ Your dog loves YOU: Not perfection, not fancy toys—just you.
3️⃣ Routine helps: A little structure in the chaos goes a long way for both of you.
4️⃣ Breaks are okay: Give yourself and your pup time to decompress.
5️⃣ Celebrate small wins: Even sitting calmly for a moment is a victory!

You’ve got this, and so does your pup. Wishing you a season filled with wagging tails, belly rubs, and joy! 🎄✨

Force-free training isn’t just kind—it’s effective! By focusing on direction over correction, we guide our dogs toward the behaviors we want, rather than punishing mistakes.

Here’s why it works:
✨ Builds trust: Your dog learns in a safe, supportive environment.
✨ Encourages learning: Rewarding good choices motivates your pup to repeat them.
✨ Strengthens your bond: Training becomes a team effort, not a power struggle.

Dogs thrive when they know what to do instead of just what not to do. Let’s train with love, patience, and understanding—because happy dogs learn best!

Did you know that red light therapy isn't just for humans? It's also a fantastic tool for improving your furry friend's health and well-being! 🐶

🔴 What is Canine Red Light Therapy?
Red light therapy involves exposure to low levels of red and/or near-infrared light, which penetrates the skin and stimulates cellular repair and regeneration. It's a non-invasive, drug-free approach to treating a variety of conditions.

Benefits include:
💜Pain Relief - Alleviating pain associated with arthritis, joint inflammation, and injuries, promoting faster healing and recovery.
💜Improved Mobility - By reducing inflammation and promoting tissue repair.
💜Skin and Coat Health - Enhancing skin and coat condition, reducing itching, hot spots, and promoting hair regrowth in cases of alopecia.
💜Wound Healing - Accelerates the healing of wounds, cuts, and surgical incisions, minimizing the risk of infection.
💜Enhanced Circulation - By increasing blood flow to tissues, promoting better oxygenation and nutrient delivery.

Red Light Therapy can be a helpful item in your dogs tool belt for aiding in stress release, pain relief, and much more!

RBDT is now offering Canine & Equine Red Light Therapy sessions! Message for Info & Booking!

While red light therapy can offer numerous benefits, it's not a replacement for veterinary care.

Dog parents, this is your reminder: It’s OK to take a break. Training, caring, and loving your pup is rewarding, but it can also be exhausting. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup! Your mental health matters, too.

Take a breather.
Go for a walk alone.
Ask for help if you need it.
It’s not selfish; it’s necessary.

Your dog loves and appreciates you for all that you do. Taking care of yourself helps you show up as the best version of you—for them and for you. You’ve got this.

Important notice:
Hey it’s Anmarie! I hope all of you are enjoying this holiday season! As some of you may know I’ve been dealing with a lot, and a lot in my life has changed! My mental health has been impacted and I’m working on it but I’ve come to the very hard slap in the face realization that I need to get off social media for a bit to give myself a break! I do love my job most of the time and I adore all my pups I get to work with but I’ve been run thin so I’m prioritizing myself which is so difficult for me to do but I’m at a point where I’ve got to! Next year is coming and I have a lot of life changes I’m looking at making with all my businesses and life so as I work on making changes, I hope all of you can watch and enjoy the way things will evolve! I plan to be off any and all social media until December 10. BUT! I’ve written and scheduled out stories, posts, and reels for you guys to enjoy on a routine schedule while I’m away! I wish everyone the Absaloutle best while I’m away and I hope you all have a lovely Thanksgiving and holiday season! Best wishes💜

4 principles we believe in to better our training team & better your dogs!

🐶Respect is crucial in training because it fosters trust, making the dog more receptive to learning, & encourages positive behavior, helping to build a strong bond between the dog and handler, which is essential for effective communication.

🐶Kindness builds trust, making dogs more willing to learn and follow commands. It encourages positive reinforcement, which is effective and promotes a happy, motivated dog. It enhancing communication and cooperation As well as prevents behavioral issues that can arise from fear or aggression caused by harsh methods.

🐶Autonomy is the ability to make one's own choices and decisions independently. It allows individuals to navigate and influence their environment. In dog training, autonomy helps dogs to develop confidence and problem-solving skills by giving them some control over their actions. It encourages natural curiosity and engagement, making training sessions more enjoyable and effective. Allowing some degree of autonomy helps to reduce stress and frustration, leading to a more positive learning environment.

🐶Compassion is vital! It creates a trusting and secure relationship between the dog and its owner & trainer. It encourages patience and understanding, allowing the trainer to address the dog's needs and emotions effectively. This approach also helps to prevent behavioral issues that can arise from aversive/correction biased training & punishment. It’s also important to have compassion for the dogs owner and work together to create a positive & understanding environment for our dogs & human students to set them up for long term success!

Did you know? Comforting your dog during stressful situations is not only okay but also beneficial! 🐕✨

Contrary to the myth that comforting your dog reinforces fear, scientific studies have shown that providing reassurance and comfort can actually help your furry friend feel safe and secure.

Research shows many benefits including:
💜Building Trust: When you comfort your dog, you strengthen your bond and build trust. Your dog learns that they can rely on you for support, which is crucial during anxious moments.

💜Reducing Anxiety: Your calm presence and soothing voice can help reduce your dog’s anxiety. Comforting actions like petting, talking softly, and staying close can signal to your dog that they are in a safe environment.

💜Positive Association: You help create a positive association with the stressful situation. Over time, your dog might start feeling less fearful because they associate the situation with your comforting presence.

How can I comfort my dog:
🦴Stay Calm
🦴Speak Softly
🦴Gentle pets
🦴Create a Safe, Quiet Space
🦴Respect their boundaries
🦴Advocate for your dog

Remember, your support and comfort can make a big difference in your dog’s well-being. 🐶Next time your dog is scared, don’t hesitate to offer them the reassurance they need.

Its insaine what a difference happens in just a year! Nova has been blowing all of us away with her incredible progress! Im so pround of her & her owner for sticking with it through the tough times of puppyhood! She is absaloutly thriving and has been an incredible, happy, healthy, and solid service dog in training using force free methods for longterm success!

The bond i have with all of my amazing dogs is incredible & truley would not be stronger without the prioritization on positive reinforcement & redirection! Somedays i have to use my brain to rhe max to probpem solve but in the end its truly worth it to give our dogs the best chance at long term success, & mental wellness!
