McKamey Animal Center is excited to invite the community to join them at their monthly vaccine and microchip clinic on Saturday, May 4th, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the MAC C.A.R.E.S. Center.
The MAC C.A.R.E.S. Center is located within the MetMin Impact Hub at 4001 Rossville Blvd. Chattanooga, TN 37407.

The clinic will offer free-of-charge services, including DHPP, FVRCP, Rabies vaccines, microchips, pet food, and basic pet supplies. This clinic is open to all dog and cat owners who reside in Hamilton County, Tennessee. There is no appointment required to attend the clinic, but all services will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and services are guaranteed only for the first 50 pets.

In 2023, MAC sheltered more than 4,200 dogs and cats, with the overwhelming majority having no ID, microchip, or up-to-date vaccination status when they entered the shelter. MAC hopes that by hosting regular clinics such as these, more pets will receive preventative veterinary care as well as a permanent form of ID to assist in reuniting them with their owner in the event they are lost.

Services Provided Will Include:

- DHPP Vaccine - FREE
- FVRCP Vaccine - FREE
- Rabies Vaccine - FREE
- Microchip - FREE
- City License - $0 - $50
- Pet Food and Basic Supplies Available as Needed

This clinic is made possible thanks to the generous partnership between MAC and Banfield Foundation. 🧡

So you live in Chattanooga, Red Bank, or Lakeside and know that MAC is your contracted animal control… but what exactly does that mean? 🤔

If you need to report animal cruelty or neglect within our service area, please call us at (423) 305-6500 and press 1. MAC takes each animal welfare call seriously and attempts to respond promptly to each and every call we receive. However, certain calls must take precedence, and non-urgent calls may be deferred based on staff availability. The breakdown below is intended to ensure citizens know what steps to take when an animal-related concern arises.

Priority One: Immediate Officer Response; Qualifies for after-hours response. Note: The officer will be dispatched immediately, but arrival time may vary based on travel time and other priority responses that are already in progress. A priority one call is an urgent situation involving a dog actively attacking or posing a threat, a seriously injured dog or cat, a loose dog endangering traffic or safety, animal abuse in progress, animals left unattended in hot cars, owners unable to retrieve pets due to emergencies, or wildlife showing signs of neurological disorder.

Priority Two: Same day or next day response; does not qualify for an after-hours response. A priority two call involves situations where an animal is found apparently abandoned by a landlord or property manager or cases where animals are being neglected but are not at immediate risk of death.

Priority Three: Response time is dependent on officer availability and does not qualify for an after-hours response. A priority three call pertains to situations involving apparent healthy dogs or other lost animals not in immediate distress, nuisance cats, barking dogs, or deceased animals.

MAC prioritizes each call received but must allocate resources based on the urgency of the situation. Understanding the priority levels outlined helps citizens know what to expect when they report an animal-related concern. But rest assured, MAC remains committed to serving the welfare of both animals and the community. Alternatively, if you reside in East Ridge, contact East Ridge Animal Services at (423) 633-7774.
