A Paw And A Prayer Dog Rescue

A Paw And A Prayer Dog Rescue APAAP is a non-profit, SMALL-DOG and puppy rescue in Chattanooga, TN operated by volunteers and funded by monies collected from adoption fees and donations.

No local county/city/state funding. Please shop Amazon/smile and pick us! All A Paw and A Prayer dogs are seen by a licensed veterinarian. All adults are spay/neutered, heartworm tested, dewormed, given rabies and DAPP booster. All puppies are given deworming medication, age-appropriate shots, and spay/neutered if they meet the age/weight criteria determined by the vet. All adults and puppies are

chipped as well! A Paw and A Prayer Rescue started from friends with a common bond - to help dogs that were abandoned, neglected and abused in the Chattanooga and surrounding areas. We are volunteers who work other jobs and in our “spare” time we bring dogs into our home setting and begin the adoption process. We are not funded by any organization and operate from our own resources and donations. We rely entirely on the generosity of friends and strangers. Some dogs come to us by owners who no longer want them or who can no longer care for them. Often owners surrender their pets to local shelters and there is a chance that their beloved pet could be euthanized. This is where APAAP comes into the picture - we try to help reduce the number of pets turned into shelters. We also try to help our local shelters by pulling abandoned adoptable pets into our foster program. As APAAP has grown we have initiated a Foster Parent Program. Without our foster parents we could not pull and rescue as many dogs as we do. Amazon wishlist

Poppy and Pearl have been at the shelter longer than anyone! They arrived when they were two weeks old and they are now four months old. We aren't sure what breed they are, but their mom was medium size and weighs about 35 pounds. We aren't sure who Dad was. We would love to find these sweet girls loving forever homes. They are both very affectionate and well-behaved. They are really good about using the pads in their kennel. they are both very smart girls and would make wonderful additions to anyone's family. We had thought previously that Pearl was blind, but she is definitely not. She chases a laser pointer around like nobody's business! If you are interested in adopting these girls, please click the links below to apply.

This is Chester's sweet sister Callie🥰❤️ She is desperate for a forever home too. She has been on our site for several weeks and unfortunately we have not had any interest in her or her siblings:( They are such sweet, beautiful dogs. Hate for them to have to grow up in a kennel at the shelter. She was born in July and currently weighs about 28 pounds. If you are interested in giving this sweet girl a forever home then please click the link below to submit an application. She also has another sister who is available named Carley and two brothers named Chester and Chase.

This adorable little boy has taken over Yum Yum's previous spot as my new office dog. His name is Conner and he is an approximately three year old, 18 pound, Chihuahua mix. He was very standoffish at first (barked and growled when id approach his kennel) but within a few days he was my new best friend! He does bark at new people at first, but I promise he warms quickly and then never wants to leave your side. He is a permanent fixture in my lap. He loves playing fetch and even drops the toy when he brings it back so you can throw it to him again. He is such a happy boy! He does well with other dogs. I don't think he would do well with young children. He has also never been around cats so we can't say for sure if he gets along well with them or not. He is neutered. If you are interested in meeting this adorable little guy then please click the link below to submit an application.

O.B. is the best and brings so much joy into our lives. He loves to cuddle with us on the couch and even though he’s small, he loves to be our guard dog if he hears a noise outside. He loves to play fetch and will do anything for a treat. We love seeing his personality grow, he’s such a goofball and never meets a stranger! He also LOVES socks. (That last photo is also him dressed up for Halloween at daycare) Thank you for being apart in brining O.B. into our family!

‼️‼️ADOPTED‼️‼️
One of the longest term residents of our shelter got the chance to go to a foster home this weekend! Piper is such a sweet girl and we are so happy for her! Her wonderful foster said she is doing great and learning all about the big outside world. She had been at our shelter since she was two weeks old and she is now four months old. She is ready to find her forever family! Piper is great with other dogs and kids. Don't know that she's been around Cats but her sweet nature leads us to believe that she would do fine with them. She currently weighs about 12-15 pounds. Her mom weighs between 35 and 40 pounds. Unfortunately, we do not know who the dad is. Piper also has two sisters (Poppy and Pearl) who are still here at the shelter who are waiting for their forever homes too. If you are interested in meeting Piper, then please click the link below to submit an application.

This adorable girl is still looking for a forever home! Here is what her current foster says about her..."Here is sweet and spunky Cutie! She’s still doing great with potty training, she makes her needs known with a single bark. She’s very smart, knows how to sit and is very motivated with treats. She would be an amazing family dog! Great with kids and other dogs, not sure about cats but is very respectful of boundaries when told “leave me alone”.

Would anyone be interested in adopting either of these two cuties? They are 1/2 Standard Poodle/ 1/2 Husky. both weigh 45 to 50 pounds. The lighter colored one in the top picture is a male named Pumpkin. The bottom one is a female named Queen. Both are house trained, and good with other dogs. They are curious around cats, but haven't ever harmed them. If you are interested in either of these two, then please contact Jennifer at the office at 423-598-2717. Thanks!

From the family who adopted the sweet little puppy named Boo a couple of weeks ago..."We love her! She's doing very well, she's learned to p*e and p**p on the dog pad, she's eating well too. She plays a lot, but we've been careful to make sure she always takes a toy to play with because her teeth are still sharp and when they touch our hand they hurt, but she's learning and doing well. At dawn she wakes me up with a little sniffle, wants me to take her to the dog pad to p*e and p**p, eats a little, then plays for a few minutes and we go back to sleep."
