A Paw And A Prayer Dog Rescue APAAP is a non-profit, SMALL-DOG and puppy rescue in Chattanooga, TN operated by volunteers and funded by monies collected from adoption fees and donations.

No local county/city/state funding. Please shop Amazon/smile and pick us! All A Paw and A Prayer dogs are seen by a licensed veterinarian. All adults are spay/neutered, heartworm tested, dewormed, given rabies and DAPP booster. All puppies are given deworming medication, age-appropriate shots, and spay/neutered if they meet the age/weight criteria determined by the vet. All adults and puppies are

chipped as well! A Paw and A Prayer Rescue started from friends with a common bond - to help dogs that were abandoned, neglected and abused in the Chattanooga and surrounding areas. We are volunteers who work other jobs and in our “spare” time we bring dogs into our home setting and begin the adoption process. We are not funded by any organization and operate from our own resources and donations. We rely entirely on the generosity of friends and strangers. Some dogs come to us by owners who no longer want them or who can no longer care for them. Often owners surrender their pets to local shelters and there is a chance that their beloved pet could be euthanized. This is where APAAP comes into the picture - we try to help reduce the number of pets turned into shelters. We also try to help our local shelters by pulling abandoned adoptable pets into our foster program. As APAAP has grown we have initiated a Foster Parent Program. I’m sitting here just beside myself and nauseated having to post this! I need to re-home Pebbles! I’ve had her for 2 years and got her from a hoarding situation. She has been a bit irascible from the beginning of our journey together. I tried to adopt her to 2 separate times but neither was successful so I ended up keeping her and she is really a very sweet, hilarious, entertaining, housetrained chi/JRT mix. She loves to cuddle and get under blankets. I adore her! She has a little feisty attitude with other dogs and strangers though and until a week ago things were going along fine. There was a terrible dog fight Thanksgiving and then another yesterday in my 93 year-old husband’s lap. We have made the decision that she needs to be placed in a home with no pets or small kids - preferably an older couple. I hate like everything to do this but I spoke with a behaviorist and this is the best thing to do mostly from a safety issue. My husband was shaken up - he also has Alzheimer’s. OMG THIS DOG IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!😍🥰 Her name is Lola and she is needing a new forever home. She is an 11 month old, F2B goldendoodle (meaning she has more of the Golden Retriever characteristics than Poodle but she is still low shed). she weighs between 40 and 50 pounds. She's very friendly and playful. Good with other dogs, cats, and kids. She is house trained as well as crate trained. She knows basic commands. She sounds like an all-around perfect girl! Carly has decided today that she likes being a lap dog. This is the sweetest, most loving girl, once she gets to know you. She takes a while to warm up to new people so she's going to need someone to be patient with her and give her time to learn to trust you. Due to her skittish nature we don't think she would be a good fit for homes with children. She needs a nice, quiet, home. Good with other dogs. Approximately 5 months old and weighs about 30lbs. We were told Aussie/Lab mix.

‼️‼️ADOPTED‼️‼️ Update on Trudy Patootie (the adorable little girl with the terrible skin infection). Trudy started the second week of her medication's, and she is looking so much better already! All of the horrible thick scabs that were covering her skin have now healed. We have all fallen in love with this happy, playful, beautiful little girl! Link to apply coming soon.

We didn't want all the shelter babies to be left out so they're all enjoying their Thanksgiving dinners this morning! Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at APAAP!❤️
