Hey yall! I know it's been a while since I've posted anything, but as you all know I've been through some staff changes at the shop. So it's taken some time getting use to the new normal. So let's catch up! Happy Turkey Day and Merry Christmas! Lol!!😆
I've got some very exciting and unexpected news! My baby boy Cameron(some of you know from him working at the shop before he went to college) just found out today that he made team trials for Team USA for bowling!!! Once he makes the team the sky is the limit!! I am one proud momma! 🥰
However, since we just found out today we now have to figure out how to get us to the tournament and back. It is in Reno January 1, 2025 through January 8, 2025.
I am going to be contacting my furbaby families to reschedule all appointments for that week so I can go support the kiddo! I do apologize for the last minute notice but again we just found out he made it today. Thank you all for your understanding!
If any one would like to purchase grooming gift cards or even make a donation to help with travel/ tournament expenses every little bit is greatly appreciated! You can make donations via cash app $RikkiPOTL or venmo or call/stop by the shop to purchase gift cards or donate.
Cameron and I thank you so much for all the support getting him closer to his dream. 🥰

Last Saturday we had 325 dogs in care, in a building designed to hold about 175. Since then, more than 50 have entered and only 16 have been adopted or reclaimed. Our dog population has now soared to more than 360 in care, and there is literally no space available. This situation is not humane or sustainable. We desperately need your help.

The situation is critical, and there are several ways you can make a difference:

+ Adopt! If you’ve been considering adoption, now is the time! Bringing a dog into your home right now would not only change their life but also give us the space to help others in need. November 23rd and 24th, MAC will be waiving fees for ALL canines, including puppies in an effort to find homes for the dogs in our care.

+ If you’re not sure you’re ready for a new dog, take one for a test drive with a Slumber Pawty! Whether it’s for a night, the weekend or longer, this is a great way to try things out without the commitment.

+ Foster. Even if you’re not looking for a permanent addition, we have dozens of dogs that need a temporary break from the shelter. Even a short time can have a massive impact.

+ Donate. Operating over capacity has pushed our resources to the limit. Supplies like linens, treats, pet food, and kennels are running out quickly, and monetary support helps us replenish what we need to care for the animals. Any contribution—big or small—makes a difference.

+ Spread the word. Talk to your friends, family, colleagues, or anyone who will listen. Share our story and let them know how critical the need is. The support of our community is what allows us to keep going, and we can’t do this without you.

So we have signs on the door for a reason. I have changed the main one because people decide they are unimportant and ignore them. I just added a second one. I ask that everyone respect their dogs and allow them to potty prior to entering the building! And yes you do have to clean up after them. If you are physically unable to do so then let us know so we can clean up. I have the door bell because it gets rather loud in the salon due to dryers and fans and barking etc. WE CANNOT HEAR YOU ENTER! I have been yelled at because a man thought he waited to long yet he didn't ring the bell. We've also had an incident a while back with a homeless man. I don't want to lock the door but it will be locked if dogs are not walked and the bell is not used. Then you will be in the weather until I am able to come unlock the door.

We will be out of town for continuing education. We will reopen on January 31st.

Just wanted to update everyone. I have been out of town since Thursday. My very first friend ever lost her battle with cancer. Was out of town at her funeral. I haven't checked messages as of yet. I will be doing that tomorrow when we open back up at 9. Thank you for everyone understanding when we had to reschedule this past weekend. Just wanted to update. I promise I will be returning messages over the next day or two(depending on how many I have). We won't be taking any new furbabies until after the first of the year.
