The holiday season is upon us, and as you decorate your home, be mindful of the plants you bring inside, especially if you have furry friends.

While there are many festive plants that can add a touch of holiday cheer to your home, some plants can be toxic to pets, causing anything from mild stomach upset to more serious health issues. Popular holiday plants like poinsettias, mistletoe, and holly can all cause harm to dogs and cats if ingested.

If you do have plants that are toxic to pets, make sure they are kept in a location that is out of reach, such as on a high shelf or behind a closed door. And if you suspect that your pet has ingested a toxic plant, contact your veterinarian immediately.
